But it's not all love and romance, because they breakdown the truth behind the foundation of the most romantic day of the year. Thousands of years ago it was started with a dark past, filled with scandal and murder, but now it's contemporary is fed by commercial consumption with 2 Billion dollars spent annually on this day worldwide. With a balanced female perspective in accordance with the strong male opinions about February 14th, they lay it all out on the table and are honest about the negative effect, stress and pressure it has on every man with a significant other. Then on the contrary, it also segregates single men and women, making them feel bad about themselves for being unable to partake in the romantic celebrations. From the top candies, songs and films, to the millions of Hallmark cards sold each year, expectations are the quick death of fantastic dreams. The core of disappointment, arguments and break-ups come February 15th. We are conditioned since Kindergarten to indulge in the commercial consumption associated with Love and Romance.
