The Open Door welcomes special guest Theodore Rebard, a professor of philosophy from the University of St. Thomas, in Houston. He’ll lead us in a discussion on “Undergraduate Teaching: Promise and Peril.”

Our questions include the following.

What are the main obstacles that you face in teaching?
Can you identify some of their causes?
C.S. Lewis said that the “task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles but to irrigate deserts.’ Is that true today?
