Often missing, in our discussions during Black History Month, is the tales of conjure and how we have worked with our spirit guides towards Black liberation. Written by Patricia C. McKissack in The Dark-Thirty Southern Tales of the Supernatural is a story on southern conjure during the times of slavery. The story We Organized is a direct linkage to our African Congo heritage of magick and how it was used to liberate our people.
