TLDR: Many people have no idea why they should invest. Even more have no idea what risks they are taking by not paying off their debts and making good investments. The most important reason why you should invest is to beat Inflation. For example, your hard earned money will not have the same value ten years down the line and even less 30 years down the line. Inflation directly affects the power your money has to pay for goods and services you need. The moral of the story of Inflation is to pay off your debts first and to invest your money so that it will grow over time, preferably faster than the current rate of inflation. That's why it matters.
