El: Το σκανδαλισμένο βλέμμα του σερβιτόρου κόλλησε στην Κατερίνα όταν έφτασε σε αυτό το καφέ της Αθήνας.
En: The scandalized look of the waiter stuck to Katerina when she arrived at this café in Athens.

El: Ιδρωμένος από την ιλιγγιώδη ατμόσφαιρα της πρωινής βάρδιας και τη ζέστη που παίρνει η πόλη, ο σερβιτόρος ήταν ένας βιαστικός άνθρωπος που περνούσε από το τραπέζι στο τραπέζι προσπαθώντας να προλάβει τις παραγγελίες.
En: Sweaty from the stifling morning atmosphere of the early shift and the heat that grips the city, the waiter was a hurried person passing from table to table trying to keep up with the orders.

El: - Έναν καφέ, παρακαλώ, είπε η Κατερίνα.
En: - A coffee, please, Katerina said.

El: Αυτό που ακούστηκε όμως δεν ήταν το στάνταρ "έναν καφέ", αλλά κάτι που μοιάζει με την αρχαία ελληνική γλώσσα και ο σερβιτόρος είχε μια ανίερη στιγμή απορίας.

En: With passersby crossing the royal entrance of the Roman Agora, the historic center of Athens, and people casting shadows on the parallel corners of the sidewalk, the waiter wondered if Katerina was a living version of Greece's history or just a paranoid illusion.

El: Αλλά η Κατερίνα, με τα μάτια της κοντά σε ένα ευρύ χαμόγελο, τον κοίταζε με προσμονή.

El: Δεν ήξερε ότι οι λέξεις που χρησιμοποιούσε ήταν αρχαίες, δεν ήξερε ότι μιλούσε σε μια γλώσσα που είχε σβήσει από το χρονικό του κόσμου - ήταν απλά η Κατερίνα, νιώθοντας την Αθήνα να ανασαίνει γύρω της.
En: She did not know that the words she was using were ancient, she did not know that she was speaking in a language that had been erased from the timeline of the world - she was just Katerina, feeling Athens breathe around her.

El: - Συγνώμη, είπε η Κατερίνα, προσπαθώντας να ανασύρει ένα είδος συγκεκριμένης γλώσσας από την καταπίεση των αιώνων, μα ο σερβιτόρος άγγιξε το βραχίονά της απαλά.
