We've all heard the absurd claim that "Jesus was Palestinian" - from Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour to comedian Amer Zahr to protestors at a Santa Claus booth at a Toronto mall. Some people dismiss the claim as complete nonsense. However, the claim is a pernicious one as it seeks to redefine Jewish identity - as a faith, not as a people. By doing so, its aim is to remove any connection Jews have to peoplehood and to the land of Israel.
