In this episode of the Cody Wyoming Podcast, host Ashley visits the local Saturday market and chats with Danielle, owner of Cowboy Camp, a locally run candle business known for their all-natural, aromatic candles. Inspired by her love for candles and the desire to have a cleaner alternative to commercially available ones, Danielle uses 100% soy wax and cotton wicks, reducing the chemicals being released into homes. She appreciates the local support in Cody, and her products are also available on Amazon and their online store, cowboy camp wyo.com. Drawing inspiration from Wyoming's rich landscapes, the candles have earthy scents, with Northern Lights described as "Wyoming in a jar". The episode is sponsored by the Pretty Buffalo Boutique, a go-to place for Western-style clothing, located on Sheridan Avenue Main Street.

it's Ashley and we're live on the Cody Wyoming podcast, and I'm at the market that happens on Saturdays, and I found the most amazing smelling candles I ran into. The owner, her name is Danielle. Welcome. Hi. Thank you. I'm wondering how you got started in the candles. It's called Cowboy Camp. And I know you can find it on Amazon. Tell me about where you can find it locally. So locally, we're at the market almost every Saturday. And then our candles are also in Legends Bookstore. Perfect. Tell me a little bit about your history. How'd you get started in the candles? So I got started in candles because I am an avid candle burner. I burn tons and tons of candles and I wanted something that burns cleaner than a lot of what you can find in the store. So our candles are 100% soy wax. With cotton wicks, so we're not putting a bunch of chemicals into our house while we're burning 'em, which is super helpful. I know sometimes I go to the store like Walmart not to be, but, and I buy candles and they make me sick. Yeah. So this is a really helpful thing for people. I'm excited because I'm gonna get to know you more tell me about your candle sales and Cody so far? Our candle sales and Cody have actually been really great. We've done some vendor fairs, like craft shows. We're getting a ton of local support from the community, so it's been really fun.  So can I find you on Amazon? You can find me on Amazon. Just search Cowboy Camp or We have an online store, cowboy camp wyo.com. Okay, perfect. And what's your favorite scent? My favorite scent for the candles would be Northern Lights. Okay. Tell me about a few of the scents and what you like. Okay, so Northern Lights being my favorite. My best compliment I ever received on it was that it smells like Wyoming in a jar. So we try and pull our inspiration for our candles based on where we live. So we have a lot of earthy scents pines, sages, maybe not really fruity, but definitely Wyoming inspired. Okay,. I'm excited. So if you are listening to this podcast, go find the candles and we will be more with her later.
