Flying home from Frankfurt Germany in 2003 at 19 years old, and I was stunned to see an actor from my favorite teenage angst movie, Empire Records... Rory Cochrane. Looked like he was on the same flight to Chicago O'hare with me. I didn't want to be a creeper, so sat a ways away. The attendant at the desk soon made an announcement saying (in several languages) that the flight was very full and wondering if anyone wanted incentives to get on other flights. To my utter excitement, I realized he had gotten up and was coming my way, and sat in the chair right across from me! He then smiled and said, "you know, if it's really that bad, you're welcome to sit on my lap." I didn't hesitate to be a little offended, but a tiny bit flattered, because you know, I was a stupid teenage girl, "well, I do have a pretty bony ass, so I'm sure that would be quite uncomfortable after an 8 hour flight." He looked completely stunned, and I quickly realized he thought I was German and didn't speak English. He then apologized for his forwardness, and asked where I was from and what I was doing in Germany. We had a good laugh and little chat. He then helped with my multitude of bags in O'hare as I was trying like hell to make it through customs for my connecting flight to Utah.
