He spent the next eight years - full-time - researching and writing Not by Fire but by Ice.
Felix learned that many magnetic reversals - more than could be mere coincidence - had occurred in sync with both mass extinctions and ice ages.
Why did ice ages so often coincide with magnetic reversals? he wondered.
