  • "Offer Children's Ministry"

1 JUL. 2024 · “Offer Children’s Ministry” WHY WE DO IT  Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”    1. THE VALUE OF CHILDREN  Matthew 18:2-6 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. (3) And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (4) Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (5) And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.    2. CHILDREN NEED PROPER GUIDANCE  Matthew 18:6-7 “If anyone causes one of these little ones - those who believe in me - to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. (7) Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! 3. CHILDREN NEED SALVATION TOO   Matthew 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? (13) And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. (14) In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

  • Practice Baptism

24 JUN. 2024 · “Practice Baptism” WHY WE DO IT  1 Peter 3:18-22 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. (19) After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits – (20) to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, (21) and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (22) who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. *Baptism that now saves you* 1. NOT REMOVAL OF DIRT FROM BODY   2. PLEDGE OF CLEAR CONSCIENCE Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.   Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 3. THROUGH THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS Romans 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.   Matthew 28:18 – All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me.

  • Listen to Preaching

17 JUN. 2024 · “Listen to Preaching” WHY WE DO IT 2 Timothy 4:1-2 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: (2) Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 1. PREACHING IS NOT OPTIONAL 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (17) so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Acts 20:27 For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. 2. PREACHING HELPS US LIVE FOR JESUS 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. Acts 20:20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. 2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (4) They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

  • “Collect an Offering”

10 JUN. 2024 · “Collect an Offering” WHY WE DO IT 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. (2) In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. (3) For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, (4) they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. (5) And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. (6) So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. (7) But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. (8) I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. (9) For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. 1. GIVING IS A MATTER OF THE HEART 2 Corinthians 8:1-3 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. (2) In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. (3) For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. -Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 2. GIVING IS AN ACT OF GRACE 2 Corinthians 8:3-5 …Entirely on their own, (4) they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. (5) And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. 3. GIVING IS PART OF SPIRITUAL MATURITY 2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:8 I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 4. GIVING FOLLOWS THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

  • "Take Communion"

3 JUN. 2024 · “Take Communion” WHY WE DO IT 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? (17) Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf. 1. FELLOWSHIP WITH CHRIST 1 Corinthians 11:25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, (19) but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 2. FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER v. 16 “And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?” Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 10:17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf. 1 Corinthians 12:12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.

  • "I Feel Unloved"

13 MAY. 2024 · “I Feel Unloved” LORD, Help Me 1 John 4:7-12 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (8) Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (9) This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (10) This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (11) Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (12) No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. God is Love 1. GOD LOVES YOU John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 2. WE LOVE YOU 1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. John 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. “Love cures people, both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.” --Dr. Karl Menninger

  • "I'm Angry Right Now"

8 MAY. 2024 · Sermon Title: “I’m Angry Right Now” Sermon Series: LORD, Help Me James 1:19-21 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, (20) because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (21) Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 1. BECOME SLOW TO ANGER James 1:19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, Proverbs 14:29 Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. 2. BECAUSE ANGER DOES NOT PRODUCE RIGHTEOUSNESS James 1:20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 3. YOU WILL NEED TO CUT IT OUT BY THE ROOTS James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Ephesians 4:26-27 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, (27) and do not give the devil a foothold. 29 ABR. 2024 · Sermon Title: “I’m Ready to End it All” Sermon Series: LORD, Help Me Matthew 27:3-5 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. (4) “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.” (5) So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. 1. MENTAL STRUGGLES ARE REAL 2. ENDING IT ALL IS NOT THE ANSWER 2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. Job 1:21 “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” 3.
