Being black with mental health concerns in America is a double whammy! With all of the other challenges that Black Americans face, dealing with the stigma of having mental health issues is not a chance most blacks are willing to take no matter the outcome. YaSheema Marshall is a wife, mom, entrepreneur, mommy motivator and family advocate who has experienced the face of mental health from various perspectives. She created this podcast to create a platform where those dealing with the fear, stigma, judgment and complexities of being black with a mental illness can openly share their lived-experience. We are exploring this complex issue through the eyes of blacks living this reality everyday through their personal stories with the goal of helping others and letting them know that they are not alone in this battle.
