14 JUN. 2020 · In this week's episode of Berlin Roundfunk, I'm talking to Ina West, whose latest album "Girls" is truly a work of wonder. She experiments with violins and guitars in an electronic environment where she writes the music for all of the instruments herself. Her inspiration she takes from her life; her time as a nanny in England is featured on "Tender Age", and when she meets her old roommate again, now stark naked and covered in red paint, she was inspired to write "Aurora".
In short, she doesn't need long to amaze both her interviewer and, I hope, you too. She's vibrant, intense, and hypnotic, which finds expression in the darker songs of her album, sometimes with an underground techno-vibe. For everyone who would rather dance to her music in a club, she's promised us to play more gigs this year in clubs, as well as regular venues.
