Shotgun Tom Kelly is a radio and television personality, and I like his style. I like how I heard him talk while playing the 60s. I like his voice. He is a radio and television personality. He is a two-time Emmy award winner, Billboard Air Personality of the Year winner, an inductee into the California Music Hall of Fame (2023),and recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Born in San Diego, Kelly worked at KDEO, KPRI, KGB, KCBQ, KOGO, KBZS and KFMB-FM[5] before replacing the late Don Steele in the afternoon slot at Los Angeles oldies station KRTH-FM, K-Earth 101. In August 2015, he was taken off the air and became KRTH's "Ambassador," doing personal appearances throughout Southern California. He eventually returned to the air as a weekend host. He exited KRTH in November 2016. In September 2018, he debuted on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's '60s On 6 channel (now known as the 60s Gold channel).
Shotgun Tom's voice is featured in the motion picture Déjà Vu, starring Denzel Washington, and on America's Most Wanted and Spike TV's 1000 Ways to Die.
He's a great radio personality star.

Berry Gordy is multiple things. He's a retired record executive, record producer, songwriter, film producer and television producer. He is best known as the founder of the Motown record label and its subsidiaries, which was the highest-earning African-American business for decades.
As a songwriter, Gordy composed or co-composed a number of hits including "Lonely Teardrops" and "That's Why" (Jackie Wilson), "Shop Around" (the Miracles), and "Do You Love Me" (the Contours), all of which topped the US R&B charts, as well as the international hit "Reet Petite" (Jackie Wilson). As part of the Corporation, he wrote many hit songs for the Jackson 5, including "I Want You Back" and "ABC". As a record producer, he launched the Miracles and signed acts like the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Stevie Wonder.
Gordy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. In 1993 he received the CBC Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2009.
When Gordy received the Songwriters Hall of Fame's Pioneer Award on June 13, 2013, he was the first living individual to receive the honor. Wow!

There was Vietnam and there was a civil rights movement and protest. Marvin Gaye recorded What's Going On and was released in 1971. Stevie Wonder recorded Loves in Need of Love Today, and It was released in 1976. Music and it's power. Motown was more than music and celebration. I say Motown is the sound of people telling millions of stories about love. I think Motown had an affect on all of America. Motown was popular in the US and the UK. Who doesn't know Motown. Motown had a significant effect on the world.
Motown played a crucial role in breaking racial barriers in music. While Motown music thrive pd during the Vietnam war era, it’s songs often carried messages of social change and empowerment. Motown artist had social messages of love and hope. They gave us messages of unity and change. Motown is soul music reaching audiences worldwide. Motown entertained everyone. People moved together in dance. It seemed everyone loved Motown.

In the music business people can become lost and go in the wrong direction. My mom used to tell me: God didn't put them in that spotlight. They put themselves in there or they forget God. I agree but we don’t know what's in a person's heart.
Whitney knew she needed God. She was always singing the Gospel. She was brought up in church, and she never stopped going to church. Like any other human being, she had some troubles.
Whatever was troubling Whitney, I believe that helped her to be a great singer too. She sang with feeling. I've seen a video of Whitney in church with Kim Burrell. Kim said Whitney wanted to preach and was speaking in tongues. That means Whitney had other gifts.
Maybe it wasn't meant for Whitney Houston to reach people the Hollywood Way. The Hollywood Way is about fame and publicity and selling sex. Whitney needed to be around other Christians, and in that Hollywood world it can be very lonely. The kingdom of God is not of this world.

From what we are told, Aaliyah is not alive. Though dead, she's certainly hard to kill. When she was alive, she told the world she was mysterious. Well, I didn't know her, but I believe her words because it seems to me she still speaks in dreams and works on the conscience. Fans are still talking about her, and she's been dead since 2001. It has nothing to do with an autopsy, a heartbeat, or a body. If you know anything about Christ, you know mystery. I didn't come to preach, but I don't know any other way to put it. If you know Him, you know some spiritual things. If Aaliyah is with him, it is possible that your dreams about her are real. These things can be hard to explain, and it's possible that the world around you can't receive it. Sometimes we are not allowed to speak, and Aaliyah didn't always speak or tell the world some things. That made her mysterious and her death a mystery.
I remember the words of the late great Aaliyah when she said: It's been a long time. I shouldn't of left you, but now I'm back. The time had come for me to get back into the studio and on TV and radio.

The New Radical sent us a positive message.
The New Radicals was an American alternative rock band formed in 1997 in Los Angeles. They recorded a song entitled You Get What You Give. It was the first and most successful single from their only studio album, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too (1998). Released on November 3, 1998, it reached number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number eight on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
In 2006, Ice-T was asked on Late Night with Conan O'Brien about what he has heard, besides rap music, in the last few years that really grabbed him and his only reply was "You Get What You Give". In a Time interview, U2 lead guitarist the Edge is quoted saying "You Get What You Give" is the song he is "most jealous of. I really would love to have written that."
Something about the song hit me too when I heard it. I was in the middle of a sad thought. It made me forget that thought. The song makes you want to do something. The song plants a seed of life. MC Hammer believed in feeding people positive things through his music to help souls. He once said in an interview with Revolt: ‘that he grew up in a very negative and violent environment. He viewed music as a way to escape. He did not need to take his music and the same tension that was already happening around the house and in the street. So when he created songs, he wanted it to be a way to escape to places you never been to see things in your mind like pictures, positivity, romance, and love, and things that inspire you to do more. He wanted that in his music and to take you away from the negative things.’
I knew I always liked him and his music for some reason. I thought the world of him when he made the rap song “Pray”. It was the truth. We got to pray just to make it today. It was a song released in August 1990, and even then there were negative things like violence going on. Hammer was encouraging people and telling the world how he worked hard to make it and on his knees every night to pray. Nothing happened until he prayed. Thank you Mr. MC Hammer for helping us to see something positive in your music. Thank you for encouraging us to keep on moving forward.
Pray became Miss MC Hammer biggest hit on the US BillBoard Hot 100 where it peaked at number two. The track also became a top 40 hit in multiple countries. The song was certified gold in the US on November 26, 1990.

Angela Bofill was a singer songwriter of Cuban Puerto Rican origins. A New York native, she began her professional career in the mid-1970s and is most known for singles such as “This Time I'll Be Sweeter” Angel Of The Night” and I Try.
I know her from singing the song Tonight I Give In. It was number 12 on the US R&B chart in 1983. When I heard Angela Bofill sing that song, I thought it was the most beautiful song that I ever heard in my life in the 80s. I remember her performing Tonight I Give In and Too Tough on Soul Train in 1983.
It made me sad to see the news yesterday on social media that Angela Bofill had passed away. She passed away on June 13, 2024 at the age of 70. People were posting on social media and remembering her. Angela was and is loved.

Chaka’s song “Ain’t Nobody” was released in 1983. quickly gathered popularity, and reached number one on the US Billboard R&B chart and number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In 1984 at the 26th Annual Grammy Awards, "Ain't Nobody" won for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. It has become one of Khan's signature songs.
Rufus keyboardist David "Hawk" Wolinski wrote the song around a repeating synthesizer loop backed by a Linn LM-1 drum computer; however, John "JR" Robinson, the band's drummer, played real drums for the recording session.
The song was included on the soundtrack album to the 1984 film Breakin'. In 2021, "Ain't Nobody" was ranked number 403 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
“Ain't Nobody” is a great dance song. It's a great song to learn to dance to.
