19 ENE. 2026 · In this episode, I start by doubling down on Josh Allen.This isn’t about talent. It’s about accountability. Josh Allen has now piled up mistake after mistake in the playoffs. A combined total of 15 fumbles and 6 interceptions. He didn’t lose all of those fumbles, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t hurt his football team. In the postseason, every loose ball matters, every short field matters, and at some point experience has to show up in decision making.
From there, I move into C.J. Stroud and the mistakes he’s made. Yes, Stroud has played some hero ball. Yes, he needs to learn when to take a sack and live for the next play. But what separates him from Josh Allen is timeline. Allen has been in the league long enough that these mistakes shouldn’t still be happening. Stroud still has another year or two before it’s truly make-or-break.
Then we head into The Press Room, where I break down real audio from athletes, coaches, and decision-makers.
I react to Dana White discussing Conor McGregor, and connect that conversation to the first UFC event airing on Paramount on January 24.

Let's walk through the full scope of the game.. the turnovers, missed opportunities, field position swings, and situational failures that put Buffalo in that position to begin with. Officiating mattered, but it wasn’t decisive. Ball security, execution, and decision making were. When you widen the lens, the outcome becomes far less controversial and far more revealing.

Either he’s genuinely listening, or powerful interests are working overtime to remove a problem they can’t control. Freeman isn’t tied to the SEC ecosystem, he’s leading Notre Dame as an independent, and he can’t be bought. And when you can’t buy someone (especially someone with real credibility) real leadership, and real character...you make them dangerous. I said from day one he’d be better than Brian Kelly, and that gap is already showing. Any program, college or pro, should want Marcus Freeman as its head football coach.
College basketball is now staring down another round of alleged gambling scandals. Including point shaving, manipulating spreads, and reported payouts ranging from $10,000 to $30,000. This isn’t random, and it isn’t surprising. We’ve built sports ecosystems that quietly reward losing. In the NFL, losing earns you premium draft capital. In college, the pressure to cash in has exploded while safeguards lag behind. When money, access, and incentives collide, integrity is always the first thing tested. And lately, it’s failing that test across multiple levels of sports.
Then there’s the absurd backlash toward A.J. Brown. Blaming him for a season and wanting to trade him for a sideline exchange is the media being lazy. Unless there’s something concrete we don’t know about locker-room issues (and there isn’t at this point) this is just a competitor demanding excellence. Him getting into it with Nick Sirianni is nothing. Peyton Manning did it. Tom Brady did it. Travis Kelce literally shoved his coach. Passion isn’t a problem but pretending it is, is.
Finally, there’s Patrick Mahomes saying he wants to be back by Week 1. No one should ever question his toughness. We’ve seen him play through pain at every level. But toughness isn’t the issue, longevity is. An injury like this, if rushed or mishandled, can shorten a career in a hurry. The best move for Mahomes, and the league, is patience because one bad return can change everything.

15 ENE. 2026 · The College Football Playoff isn’t expanding for competition. That argument is dead.
This is about allocation. Conferences aren’t worried about who earns a spot, they’re locking in seats before the structure hardens. This isn’t a playoff anymore, and it’s barely an invitational. It’s a controlled distribution system designed to make sure the same programs are always in the room, regardless of what happens on the field.
Then there’s New York.
John Harbaugh isn’t walking into a fixable situation. If he couldn’t get it done with Derrick Henry, a Hall of Fame running back, and if winning a Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson — a two-time MVP — was still out of reach, the idea that it suddenly works with this roster doesn’t hold up.
New York’s defense ranked 28th in yards allowed per game last season and 26th overall. That’s not a tweak away from contention. That’s foundational rot.
Jameis Winston is the backup. He’s great for quotes. He’s great for memes. He’s not great for winning football games.
Jaxson Dart may have won Rookie of the Year, but the tape still says long-term backup. The only real cornerstone on that offense is Malik Nabers, and hanging your entire rebuild on one receiver isn’t a plan.

Tennessee is overrated—bad decision-making against A&M and failing to put away Syracuse or Illinois proves it. Meanwhile, Michigan State is the best overall team in the nation because they actually know how to move the ball and play together.

Fourth-down football isn’t brave when it’s constant, it’s scared. It’s a coach telling you he doesn’t trust his team to operate inside structure. Indiana never flinched. They didn’t chase the game. They controlled it. This isn’t about age. It’s about being a veteran football team. Experience. Continuity. Returning starters. That’s why preseason polls look the way they do every year. That’s why programs either grow up or get exposed. And that’s why coaches like James Franklin don’t get unlimited grace when talent keeps folding under pressure.
Ole Miss and Miami - that game belonged to the players, not the sidelines. Lane Kiffin tried to turn it into a spectacle, but the kids turned it into a classic. One of the best college football games we’ve seen, full stop. Ole Miss beat themselves. They wanted fireworks instead of violence. If they run the football, if they lean into the kind of ugly, physical game Miami was begging for, that result flips. Style points cost them a win.
Marcus Freeman and the court of public opinion. This is what happens when people sprint to be first instead of bothering to be right. Headlines over facts. Outrage over truth. No charges are being filed. And yet the damage is already done because clicks matter more than credibility. That’s not journalism. That’s negligence.
Chicago and Caleb Williams - relax. Reality is coming. He’s living off opponents that don’t know how to close. That ends soon. Probably this weekend. When he runs into a team that finishes drives and finishes games, the late magic disappears.

Anthony Joshua didn’t just beat Jake Paul, he exposed the ceiling. Paul said he was “tired” late in the fight. Sure. Everyone gets tired when the running stops and the consequences start. The novelty is gone. The curiosity is gone. And now the question isn’t what’s next for Jake Paul. It’s whether this was always the inevitable end of the experiment once he stepped in with a real heavyweight who didn’t play along.
Then there’s college football, where accountability continues to be optional. Alabama dug themselves a 17–0 hole, and Oklahoma still found a way to hand the game back. Fans will yell about the officials. They’ll scream about the fumble that should’ve been reviewed. Cool. None of that changes the fact that if you’re up 17–0 at home, in your own building, you’re supposed to finish. They didn’t. Sloppy execution, missed chances, and not enough plays when it mattered. That’s not bad luck, that’s bad football.
In the NFL, we go right back to Los Angeles vs Seattle, revisiting that review from yesterday. The one that keeps reigniting the same conversation about consistency, replay logic, and who actually gets the benefit of the doubt when games are on the line.
We also fold in the WNBA situation, because it deserves more than lip service. Bigger rosters. Childcare. Retirement benefits. Fair revenue sharing. These aren’t outrageous demands. And the league can’t keep marketing empowerment while dragging its feet when players ask to be treated like professionals.
And finally, the pearl-clutching over Diego Pavia is embarrassing. People in their 40s and 50s trying to police the personality and career choices of a player barely out of college looks less like concern and more like entitlement. He doesn’t like you anymore. You’ll live. Not every athlete exists to make you comfortable, grateful, or validated.

19 DIC. 2025 · Joel Klatt trashes college basketball and wants no part of Cinderella stories. Fine. But this is Hot Take Society at full volume — and it’s been spiraling ever since Jim Rome lit the fuse.
Let’s not dance around it. Joel Klatt calling college basketball “the worst sport” and rolling his eyes at Cinderella teams isn’t insight, it’s posture. It’s a hot take designed to travel, not to inform. And if you don’t like underdogs, speak for yourself, don’t pretend that’s some universal truth.
Here’s the part people don’t want to admit: Hot Take Society didn’t come out of nowhere. It started with, Jim Rome. And yes, this is a compliment...mostly. Rome built something powerful, undeniable, and irreversible. He changed sports media forever. But what he also created was a factory. A blueprint. A clone machine. And decades later, people are still lining up to be the next version of him. Louder, sharper, and often emptier. There is no turning back from that lane now.
That same lack of imagination shows up in the NBA expansion conversation. I’ve got no problem with, Las Vegas. No problem with, Seattle. But why does every decision funnel back to the same handful of “approved” cities? If the league actually cared about balance, growth, and opportunity, places like Kansas City wouldn’t be an afterthought. This is about more than basketball. It’s about revenue, jobs, and spreading opportunity instead of hoarding it.
Then there’s, Miami. Tua Tagovailoa getting benched is the headline, but it’s not the story. The real issue is who the Miami Dolphins are, top to bottom. Culture. Direction. Accountability. Mike McDaniel looks less like a coach building something and more like one trying to survive. If he gets another season, it feels like borrowed time. Tua is in the middle of it, but he’s not the root.
And after all that noise, I end where substance still matters. I can’t wait for Booyah on ESPN, honoring Stuart Scott. He didn’t need hot takes to matter. He made sports human. He made you feel like you were sitting next to him, talking ball. That kind of connection? We may never see it again.

Bowl games have become sponsor-driven propaganda, a way for networks and the NCAA to squeeze ratings and money out of teams that finished 5–7. No other level of football does this. The NFL doesn’t hand out “almost made it” trophies. High school football doesn’t either. So why does college?
Then, the Sherrone Moore situation. Jemele Hill called Moore a “cornball,” and while I understand the broader point she’s making about selective forgiveness and how Black coaches are treated differently, I don’t agree with how it was delivered. Jumping ahead of the full story doesn’t help the conversation — it muddies it.
