I’m Mary, a licensed professional counselor, wife, fur baby mom, and cradle Catholic. I am so excited you have decided to take this next step in finding your happiness. #65 Why are You doing THIS to me Lord?!
23 JUL. 2024 · Why is God doing this to us? Is God doing this to us? I believe that much like most of the sufferings we experience in our lives, He is allowing it to happen to us. God does not do things to us, rather, once again, he allows it to be done to us. I know this may not sound fair my friend which is why you landed in the right place to be inspired and motivated despite any feelings for frustration towards God.

16 JUL. 2024 · "I was nine years old and I sat in this rocking chair at this adoption agency and a social worker handed him to me and I immediately thought, Oh, this is the best. I want to do this again when I grow up. I think for a long time after that, I just assumed I would get married and have kids.
Cause why, isn't that what people did? You just, that's what you did. You know, so it never occurred to me that that wasn't going to be something that happened, maybe. Cause I didn't know a lot of single people. I mean, now I think it's a lot more prevalent, but, I mean, everybody I knew, like, they were mommies and they were daddies and they got married and had kids, and that was the normal thing."

#63 I'M NOT BOTHERING TO TRY ANYMORE
9 JUL. 2024 · Life is hard. Grief is challenging. Life isn’t fair. Grieving in a healthy way takes too much time and effort. I’m going to stop trying to feel better, do better or live better. It overwhelms me and I would rather just keep to myself and do my thing. Whatever that is, whatever that looks like. It’s my life after all and I don’t have to do anything.

I will guess that yes, yes you have, at some point during your childhood or adulthood, you had the experience of dogpaddling or as others call it, treading water. Do you recall how it felt? Were you tired? Frustrated? Or perhaps just really ready to make it to the other side of the pool or shore? What about now as you sit in your grief, are you tired, frustrated, and ready to get to the other side of it? If you’re shaking your head yes, then you are in for a treat because today’s episode is especially made just for you. #58 WHAT'S SO SPECIAL ABOUT BEING CATHOLIC & CHILDLESS
28 MAY. 2024 · "Are Catholic childless woman more significant or special than others who are not Catholic? While I don’t feel we are more significant or special I do feel we have an added obstacle of sorts which technically could also apply to childless Mormon women. As I am sure you know, both Mormons and Catholics are notorious for having lots of kids. It is a bit of a running joke. As a result, I feel this “obstacle” can create an added layer of grief and sadness for Catholic childless women in particular. I will use a personal example to further illustrate."

#57 Childless in a child-filled world
22 MAY. 2024 · "For so many years it was so easy to focus on not having children. It can be all consuming because it's so obvious that they're not there. That oddly enough, you don't really think, oh yeah.
I'm not going to have grandkids either. It's literally not until I hit this phase of life, until I hit my fifties and I started going through menopause and the reality that my child bearing years were officially, officially over. Like I knew they'd been over for a while now, but it is officially, done and done. It was then that all of it just kinda came crashing in my face, like, oh, okay, so... Hmm... I'm not going to be a grandmother either?"
