13 MAY. 2021 · In this week's episode of FooFoo Talks Venetia and her guest, Pip Rymill, discuss all things Uterine Fibroids.
Fibroids are a benign tumours that grows in, outside or in the muscle of a woman uterus and 80% by the age of 50 will have them, making that 1 in 3 woman.
Both Pip and Venetia have been through very traumatic journeys with fibroids, similar in ways but also very different, highlighting how every woman's journey is totally unique and HCP's need to stop treating women as "all the same".
This is a follow on from episode 1 and the start of a monthly episode where a new women discuss her fight with fibroids and how it's impacted her life, creating awareness of this hugely debilitating illness.

It is a raw, honest and a needed conversation about a topic that is seemingly seen as taboo.
1 in 4 women will experience a miscarriage yet they are made to feel ashamed, inadequate and not good enough because of the stigmas society has created, this has to stop.
This episode is very truthful, painful and a real journey of what it's like for a women to go through something that is totally unimaginable.

Think Gillian Anderson's character from Sex Education and that's the style of relationship Venetia and her Mother have when it comes to discussing sex, accept Venetia has found it an amazing form of support throughout her life, rather than an embarrassment.
We find out where the name FooFoo came from, the hilarious things children say about sex, the taboo of using a tampon in Lesley's youth and what it's like for a Mother to help her child when they are at their most vulnerable times.

The episode is raw, vulnerable and a truthful account of how the lives of these women and millions of others are being effected by Endometriosis.
