Ms. Wayland discusses how she first became involved in life advocacy, her work with SAGE and services the organization provides to LGBTQ+ older adults, the role advanced practice gerontological nurses can play to ensure older adult LGBTQ+ patients receive optimal medical care and are not denied health care access due to biases, and advice on how nurses can meet the unique needs of this patient population.

In addition, technological advances supporting and elevating hospital-at-home remote patient monitoring, and the rise of patient communication devices, including wearable technologies for an aging patient population, are highlighted.
