Diana’s father knew early on that his daughter wasn’t going to follow the path of most girls or women her age. He encouraged her to take risks, fail, get up, not think so much about self, and to have integrity and laugh a lot. This best describes the essence of who she is in all aspects of her life and now as a new grandmother to Zoe.

Life Contribution to her granddaughter:
Diana believes the best way to have a positive influence on her granddaughter is to support her parents in a healthy and happy marriage. When mom and dad are happy, everyone is happy. She wants Zoe to be willing to put in the work, take risks and learn from failures, have integrity and laugh harder that anyone at the table.
Recommendations:
Being a grandparent is more than a title, it’s a responsibility. It’s a role that provides the chance to make a bigger difference to generations to come. Show Up. Listen. Love.

At the young age of 79, Dottie Gandy continues to reinvent herself. Entrepreneur, Author, Speaker, Facilitator, Coach, Women’s Activist, Co-Founder of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners. She put her career on pause and chose to become a fulltime caregiver for 6 years for her husband after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer. After his passing, she decided that she isn’t done! Dottie is currently creating a podcast that will explore what others who, like herself, are not done yet. Of all her accomplishments, the most important title is who her 4 extraordinary grandchildren call Grand Dottie.

Lorraine Grubbs has had many titles during her career including author, speaker, consultant and currently director of membership development for the Galveston Chamber of Commerce.
Of all her titles, the most cherished title is what her grandchildren call her…Memes. Her grands especially like coming to visit, because for 22 years she has lived on a boat.

Jim Potter is respectfully known as Chief to his grandchildren, family, friends and colleagues.
Chief, because his passion for helping people focus on what is important permeated through every aspect of his life. Jim personifies what being a heart centered leader looks like in work and at home. He chose to become the primary caregiver for his wife for over 30 years as she went through the progressive stages of MS.
He and his son Kent have been partners in a leadership consulting business for several years. Jim is most proud of his family, lovingly referred as the True Blue Nation.
