18 AGO. 2021 · Marcela Capaja is the Senior Specialist of Strategic Futures at Natural England and previously worked in futures and foresight at Interpol. In this podcast Marcela discusses how she applied futures thinking in these different contexts to support strategic decision making. In particular she talks about setting up a horizon scanning process, trend spotting, and the importance of shaping a shared understanding of foresight and the value it can add.

3 AGO. 2021 · Fiona Lickorish, foresight consultant, previously led on horizon scanning and futures at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Since then she has taken that work to the Cranfield Institute for Resilient Futures and is also partly doing work with government agencies and academic institutions in the US, using scenarios and other foresight tools to look at how two agencies imagine their future co-production and working relationships. She talks about her experiences and draws attention to links between foresight and risk management in strategic thinking.

3 AGO. 2021 · Jim Scopes, foresight consultant, has done a lot of strategic work using scenarios, three horizons, in-casting, wind tunnelling and a non-foresight tool called the River of Life, which is often used in development banks and agencies. This is a quick tour of his approaches with emphasis on his strategy roles in public sector organisations and how he first used a suite of foresight tools in developing strategy with HM Revenue and Customs.
