Known as the “Pahlavan-e Avaz” (Master of Singing), Iraj had a remarkable career spanning more than seven decades. We talk about his life, his powerful and distinctive voice, his connection with traditional Iranian music, and his memorable performances in classic Iranian films.
We also listen to a short part of one of his well-known songs and take a look at how his voice became part of the memories of several generations of Iranians.For Persian learners, we also explain some useful Persian expressions from the episode:
