Description: It has been nine long months since our last installment. And so, the focus of this episode is to anticipate the 99th birthday of the one and only Democracy...
mostra másWe celebrate the club’s upcoming birthday with the aid of another lengthy historic clip from 1966 (when our home of Friendship Auditorium was brand new and when Harold Link, the long-serving club manager, retired). In it, Earl Memory and Dr. J. Richard Snead. regale with tales of the club during the years spent at its Los Feliz Blvd. clubhouse. City Councilwoman Nithya Raman takes us back to the 1920s, telling a story about a major impact the newly-formed Los Feliz Improvement Association had. Guest chaplain Joanna Linkchorst takes us down the path that leads to our continuing “Adventures in Friendship” by discussing the importance of tradition and the importance of embracing change.
We honor our dearly departed friend, Richard Gilson, through heartfelt remembrances by Phil Leirness and through many special clips of Richard at the Shrine of Friendship. These include a lot of good memories, cherished laughs and you will hear the names of many Breakfast Club notables (not always pronounced correctly!).
All that, plus this episode includes several musical interludes, and an in-depth interview with that delightful Ham an’ Egger, Stephanie Rogers!
