3 MAY. 2024 · Misty Witherspoon was sentenced to life in prison without parole on July 15, 2007 for the shooting death of her police officer husband, for his life insurance. After multiple stories portraying a series of improbable events, police realized that stuff just wasn't adding up and they needed to dig a bit deeper into what actually happened on that fateful day. Even after the proof showed Misty's guilt and the motive was clear as day...her husband's family AND their church community stood behind her all the way. They didn't believe that she could ever intentionally kill her husband. What do YOU think? Lady Killers (Anna Marie Hahn) wKarah

26 ABR. 2024 · For those who have been listeners since the start of NVN, you know that the very first episode in 2017 was about Aileen Wuornos.  But the recent episodes provide a lot more depth and offer details that we found through documentaries and books that were in Aileen’s words.  This truly changed my perspective on the person she was.  This made me want to look more into other female killers (some we’ve discussed briefly and others we’ve never talked about on the podcast).   Heather and Karah will be covering some "Lady Killers" in this mini-series. In this episode, we’re going to talk about Anna Marie Hahn. As a quick summary, Anna Marie Hahn was a 26-year old immigrant from Germany who offered her services in Cincinnati as a live-in attendant for elderly men.  Over a period of about a year she would end up taking all she could from 5 victims (all of their assets) before finally murdering them once they had nothing left for her to take. She used a different poison each time she killed her victims.  Once suspicions were raised, police exhumed the bodies of her victims aka her former employers, and she was arrested.  Even though it was pretty clear that she was the killer, she still attempted a mercy killing defense…which didn’t pan out.  And in 1938, Anna Marie Hahn became the first woman in Ohio’s history to die in the electric chair.

What was going on in that head of hers? And what about Dawn? Was she a positive influence on Aileen? At five feet, four inches tall and 137 pounds; a transient sex worker who took the lives of 7 men in several acts of self-defense, according to her. But how could this be possible? Aileen aka Lee, was all love, at one time, stating quote “Too bad society has me all wrong, from all the cop lies and defamation put out on me. Because really I was all ‘LOVE’. Now I’m not.” For this episode, I tried to stick to the dates and the facts that we knew about Aileen and her criminal life. Nature vs Narcissism is a true crime/comedy podcast based in Cincinnati, Ohio where Heather and her guests discuss true crimes and the narcissists who commit them. Sometimes we have alcohol and sometimes things get weird. Relaunching on our 4th PodBirthday (Oct 22, 2021), the structure changed a lot. Every episode is different and every episode is entertaining! We will delve into whether we think nature made the criminals commit these heinous acts, or if it's simply their narcissism getting the best of them. Keep in mind, this podcast is strictly for entertainment purposes and is in no way a professional diagnosis of the subjects discussed.
