23 ENE. 2022 · In this Roundtable, the 5 nurses get together to discuss CPR changes announced by the American Heart Association in October 2021(linked here). Now, don’t come for them - they haven’t read the full document at the time of this roundtable. This discussion is a response to a lot of hype in the media and among an entire burned-out profession. The crew discusses their thoughts and feelings about doing CPR on COVID+ or suspected-Covid+ patients without pausing to don an N95. Kevin and Q have a pretty good back-and-forth that gets the blood flowing, but we’re all still friends at the end.

20 AGO. 2021 · In this Nurses' Roundtable, 6 nurse podcasters representing 5 podcasts, 4 states, and 2 countries came together to speak our minds about the continuing COVID pandemic and the battle over vaccines.
Listen to this long, minimally edited conversation among Sara and Amie of the Gritty Nurse podcast, Tina of Good Nurse, Bad Nurse, Kevin of the Art of Emergency Nursing, and Adrianne of Nursing Uncensored.
The Roundtable covers a range of topics in no particular order. Some of those topics include vaccine mandates, the responses in their communities, what sort of trends they're seeing in their hospitals, and their frustrations. They also discuss controversial topics like bodily autonomy vs community responsibility, vaccines and fertility, as well as how children are affected by the choices we make as adults.

Today the roundtable consists of Tina Visant of the Good Nurse, Bad Nurse Podcast, Swardiq Mayanja aka Q the Nurse, Adrianne Behning of Nursing Uncensored, and Erica Bailey, Clinical Relations Specialist at the University of Portland and the Creator of the Nurses of Color Collective.
In this episode, they tackle the issue of racism in nursing and discuss aspects of this huge issue such as:
- Why it’s important we continue to have these uncomfortable conversations
- The failed coup at the Capitol and witnessing white supremacy on a national scale
- Identifying and working through our own biases
- Disparities in education beginning with children of color
- Intersectionality and the compounding of barriers
- The Nurses of Color Collective and the importance of safe spaces for POC
- Racism beyond the interpersonal; racism on a systemic level is most dangerous
