In this delightful comedy of societal norms, Mrs. Seltoon is on a mission to secure the perfect match for her niece, Gail Laurence, a fresh college graduate. Having already orchestrated successful engagements for her two daughters, Mrs. Seltoon sets her sights on Gail, believing a charming cousin of one of her daughters fiancés would be an ideal match. However, this cousin is none other than a famous film star who harbors a peculiar aversion to women and mistakenly confuses the new maid for Gail. Amidst a whirlwind of mistaken identities, Gail boldly claims she is engaged to the movie idol, Adrian Lee, to fend off her intended suitor. Unbeknownst to her, he is the very man Mrs. Seltoon hopes to pair her with. With love triangles unfolding between the daughters and their fiancés, the dignity of the butler Jorkes, and the clever escapades of Abigail Mullen, the educated maid, this charming tale weaves together a rich tapestry of romance and humor. - Summary by The Author and Jenn Broda
