During the six months of production of our "Ridin’ with Willy Podcast" we happened to interview some very special people with some very special stories. Though these interviews did not fit the light-hearted content we traditionally present... we knew they deserved to be shared.
You won't hear our "Ridin’ with Willy" theme songs, musical segways and shout outs in this podcast, but rather the plain interviews we recorded that moved us to present them in a more serious light. And as in every episode, each of these passengers has given permission to share their interview. We hope you enjoy this very special presentation of "Ridin’ with Willy,"
Charles Murphy NYFD 9/11… On 9/11 Charles Murphy was a twenty year veteran of the New York City Fire Department. Murphy, fireman from Engine 257 discusses how Chief Raymond Downey Sr. (seen in the 9/11 documentary film by Gedeon and Jules Naudet) saved his life and many more that fatal day.
Trent on Katrina… Trent Bergeron was in 3rd grade when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and parts of Louisiana. After evacuating and returning to his hometown of Luling he shares the experience he and his family went through.
The Good Mama… Working in a Senior Care Center, this single mother is determined to raise her children with love and give them every opportunity to be successful.
The Green Monster… Zach is struggling with his alcoholism and talks openly about it. All while on his way to pick up a new Sunday afternoon bottle.
Chief Thunderstick… Conrad is the grandson of the first Canadian Indigenous hockey player in the NHL, Fred Sasakamoose. Drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks, he played in 11 games during the 1953-1954 NHL season. He continued his career in the minor leagues until 1960 and famously served to promote Indigenous peoples in Canadian sports. A tournament is still held in his name every year to promote his cause.

Rachel (Part 1) Emo Girl… Rachel and her brother Clay discuss the Emo that lives in us all.
Rachel (Part 2) Big Machine Vodka… In part 2 of our Rachel and Clay interview, the conversation moves on to Big Machine Distillery and Big Machine Vodka. Rachel provides insight on the “Platinum Filter” process they use and proves her loyalty to the brand.
Amiah Makes A Video… Amiah is a senior at Belmont University getting plenty of intern work prepping for a career in the music industry. She’s also an aspiring actor filming music video’s around Nashville. Her latest “Like I Still Got You” from Will Cullen out now on TikTok.
Munn… In this segment Willy talks with an Indiana singer songwriter going by his last name Munn. Moving to Nashville seems to be going very well. With millions of listens already on Spotify he may find his way into the national music spotlight very soon!
Brock the Cop… Brock Bergman is a small town northern Indiana police officer who loves country music and anything George Jones. In addition to some fun Rideshare karaoke we get a story only a cop would be able to share.
Season 1 concludes but will return in April of 2023! Look for a few bonus content episodes that will pop up between now and then.

nightfrog DJ Party… nightfrog and his DJ friends from Columbus, Ohio are mixing at The Cobra in East Nashville. What’s their favorite ultimate meal combo… confusion and comedy ensue.
Joe Kelley Takes a Tow… Professional Nashville Stand-Up Comic, Joe Kelley hydroplanes into the wall on Interstate I-65 Bowling Green, Kentucky. Thankfully unhurt, the accident however forces Joe to cancel his gig in Cincinnati. A cop, a tow truck driver and a comedian come together on what we’re sure will become a new joke in a future performance.
LA Elvis… Phillip from LA ponders the conspiracy theory Elvis Presley is alive and well working as a groundskeeper at Graceland. So Willy asks what his personal off the grid career would look like?
A Country Girl Can Survive… Promise works as Behavioral Therapist in a Nashville Senior Center. This young lady shares her story of growing up in a Levee House on the water in Louisiana. She learned to walk on a constantly moving floor with an abundance of crawfish, gator, catfish, snakes and other critters right outside her door!
Up-Down… Annie and Alec talk about their favorite Nashville Game room, Up-Down.
A Night at the Opry… Kristine left Chicago for Nashville and her friends had to pay her a visit! The day starts with a trip to the Dive Motel pool followed by “A Night at the Opry”. This included performances by Carrie Underwood, Ricky Skaggs and Nicolle Gaylon co-writer of the Lee Brice single “Boy”.

Isaac and the Heimlich Hospital… Isaac works dietary and shares the incident when a guest started choking in the hospital cafeteria. If you’re going to need the Heimlich maneuver performed there is no better environment to be in than one surrounded by health care professionals!
Vocal Biz… Avery Franks talks about her new CD, Orbit while back in town to work on some new music here in Nashville. Then it’s back to NYU to continue her academic double major in Vocal Performance and Business.
Titans Sunda… Recorded in February 2022 after the playoff loss to the Bengals and prior to the NFL Combine, we meet Tennessee Titans Broadcast Coordinator, Jack Mummert and Sunda Sushi Chef Connor Jacobs. Meeting former NFL Running back Chris Johnson and Shinedown Guitarist Zach Myers are two highlights from this segment.

Emily Gambill (Part 1)… This young traveling entrepreneur (St. Thomas, Mexico, Australia) is on the rise in Fort Worth, Texas and it wouldn’t surprise us if she went global. Owner of the successful “In The Details Cleaning Co” she has also developed a new enterprise called “Posh Picnics”.
Sydney’s Tossed Salads… Bartenders and Servers always have the best stories! Sydney shares a few with Miranda Lambert’s Tossed Salad incident, Darius Rucker, Brantley Gilbert (two nice guys!) and the best tip she ever received.
ESPN Cameron… Cameron Gross is a producer with ESPN working on their show promos. He talks about his trip Nashville to shoot a commercial for the upcoming College Football Season with Kirk Herbstreit as college professor.
Emily Gambill (Part 2)… Want to know how to live and work Down Under? In Part 2 Emily Gambill shares her secret for a successful stay in Sydney, Australia.
McGavock Football Chef… Jamarcus Harrell, High School Raiders Running Back and Defensive Tackle hopes to make it to College Football and on to the NFL. His backup plan? He then makes use of his position as minority owner of the Nashville Soccer Club to use GEODIS Stadium for the perfect engagement ask opportunity!
Briley and Jaden Make A Video… What happens when two young actors meet making a music video in Nashville? They fall in love! Staring in the new “Relationship Goals” video from Canadian Country Music Artist Steven Lee Olsen, these two have been cast together in several more.
Real Housewives of St. Louis… These ladies from St. Louis share some tips for the best ribs, toasted ravioli and pizza when visiting the “Gateway City”.

Dr. Michael King MLB (Part 1)… For 6 weeks during the MLB Strike Season, this Doctor got to catch for the New York Yankees. Even caught Gaylord Perry! Then again at the age of 40, take on the role of Bullpen catcher for the Cleveland Indians.
Meet Me At Zanies… This would certainly make a great Hallmark Rom Com. It took Garrett some time to get the suggestion but in the end Kylie won out.
Bob Buchmann… Legendary radio personality and executive Bob Buchmann discusses his Hall of Fame career and current work with Sirius XM radio. Program manager and producer for Classic Rewind, Classic Vinyl, Deep Cuts and more.
Kickballs… Michael and Laney met on an adult kickball league team so why not pop the question on the field. They did and Michael made sure it was a night to remember.
Whiskey Row Blake… V.I.P. Manager for Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row shares a couple of great stories... like the time two brothers bailed out on a $18k bar tab! The other about an unknown encounter with Darius Rucker.

Pontoonin’ with Lilly… Lilly is rocking the boat on the Pontoon Saloon with her bachelorette party but not without a bit of drama. There appears to be confusion over the cool merch hat for the bride that her sister ending up having to pay for. Free koozies however for everyone and rave reviews!
Kid Rock Review… A couple from Illinois share their review of Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk. Although a favorite venue from a previous visit, the singer in the band let them down this time. They did however enjoy the chicken and music at Rippy’s.
The Gucci Incident… Here for her fourth, yes fourth bachelorette party in Nashville and the first since Covid restrictions, Erica recounts a story from another visit. Her friend has left an expensive Gucci bag in a RideShare! What is she willing to pay the driver to return it?
A Nurse, A Plumber and a Stylist… Mississippi kids in love and in Nashville. Listen in…
Boston Hates Caroline… Not everyone in Boston loves Neil Diamond, Sweet Caroline and the Dropkick Murphys. They do love their New England Patriots and still revel in the 2017 Super Bowl LI victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Willy however lets them know that Inspire Foods in Atlanta now owns their Dunkin’ Donuts!
No Party, Party… Natalie and Lauren love the bride and the girls in the Bachelorette party but the party is not off to a great start. Nothing has been planned. The scooters are not the safest choice for travel. The Air BnB has one bathroom, two beds and no air conditioning! No reservations for White Limozeen were made and the first night in town was spent watching Netflix!

Canadian Geese… These ladies from Western Canada have enjoyed their stay in here in Nashville. They’ve learned that even the older women here dress lightly for warmer weather and that a bachelorette tossing a sex toy on to a Lower Broadway dance floor didn’t shock too many in the crowd. We also learn that Canadian Geese or Cobra Chickens as they are called can serve as security for a local Brewery.
Cornell Romance… Just another boy sees girl, girl sees boy college romance with a “Hey let’s get together” conversation in front of the Ithaca Beer Company.
All My Ex’s Live In Nashville… Daniel, Jake and Cody are here from Jackson, Tennessee to unwind… working six jobs between the three of them as landscapers, carpet installer, UPS and a server at Texas Roadhouse. They’re not exactly sure where they’ll sleep tonight but with a few ex-girlfriends living in Nashville, they have a few options.
Flower of Scotland…. A short chat about soccer and Willy’s old Scottish friend, Doug McMillian who played and coached professionally. Last week, the show lost the version of the Scottish National Anthem sung to us from the lovely ladies in the “Home to Scotland” segment of episode 14. In a meant to be moment, Martin, originally from the country gives us a fine rendition “Flower of Scotland”.
Where’s The Country Music?... Keri and Michelle from Roanoke, Virginia had a wonderful time in Nashville… even after a truck ran them off the road on their rental bikes! A trip to Skull’s Rainbow Room in Printers Alley and the Black Rabbit on Third Avenue were their favorite spots. Lower Broadway however left them scratching their heads and questioning the lack of late night authentic country music.
She’s Pretty Though… She doesn’t cook or clean but David can take care of that. She does however own two retail clothing stores in Indianapolis and Detroit. The owners of “Good Neighbor” enjoyed the Germantown Rolf and Daughters restaurant but weren’t crazy about the Loveless Café Biscuits! Maybe that’s a northern thing because we sure do love them here! Willy couldn’t remember the name off the top of his head but the Southern Belle Biscuit company could help them out on their next visit!

Spencer for President… Spencer has an inquisitive mind. She’s curious about Willy’s RideShare career choice, the fury critter on the dash and other things. But does she have a solution for gas prices if she is ever elected President?
Answered Prayers… Faith is a wonderful thing. For Brad and Rosalie it certainly is! Here in Nashville from their Honeymoon stay at Bolt Farm Treehouse, we discover prayers are indeed answered. Certainly for this young romantic couple!
Simon on the Diamond… Bryce Simon from Iowa has graduated college where he played collegiate baseball. Undrafted he still has a dream of making it the big leagues. Left-handed and training as a pitcher gives him the best shot. Let’s hope he succeeds!
Home to Scotland… Susan, Yasmin and Euan chat about their trip to Nashville and share their love of country music and Artists from their homeland. We also get a Bay City Rollers Tribute!
