As a Jonas Scholar and member of the New York Academy of Medicine, she earned her PhD at the CUNY Graduate Center. Dr. Alexandre received a master's in nursing and a certificate in gerontological nursing from Adelphi University.  She has published in peer-reviewed nursing journals and serves as a manuscript reviewer. Founder and president of the Grandbois Youth Empowerment Mission Inc., which provides health, nutrition, and educational support to the Grandbois Community in Haiti. Dr. Alexandre recently added a memorial scholarship for pre-law and law students in her son’s name. She shares her son’s journey to being a lawyer, his health problem, work she is doing in Haiti, and how she continues to rise above her circumstances.
