1:48 UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs Burns
After a week off, the UFC is back this weekend with UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs Burns. That means it is time for another episode of the Sharp Edges podcast. Calvin and Brandon are back to discuss this weekend’s card that features plenty of young rising talent, as well as a number of juicy underdog bets to cash in on.
After a brief discussion about the reopening of Las Vegas, Calvin and Brandon begin talking about this weekend’s card, starting with the very first fight of the prelims. The second bout, between Louis Smolka and Casey Kenney is the first one we see where Calvin and Brandon have some betting action. In the third bout, both Calvin and Brandon are in agreement on who to bet on in the bout between Tim Elliot and Brandon Royval.
After a couple of more prelim discussions, Calvin and Brandon turn their focus on to the main card bouts. Mackenzie Derns is one of the biggest favorites on this weekend’s cards, but is her opponent Hannah Cifers actually the better bet? Roosevelt Roberts is another fighter who is highly favored as he takes on a tough Brok Weaver. However, Calvin and Brandon are both a little skeptical of this line.
Spike Carlyle is the name to keep an eye on this weekend. Can he take down Billy Quarantillo with another quick knockout as he did in his last fight? The co-main event is our only Heavyweight bout on this card. Brandon leans one way while Calvin leans the other in a bout between Blagoy Ivanov and Augusto Sakai. Finally, in the main event, both Calvin and Brandon agree that either Tyron Woodley or Gilbert Burns is their best bet of the weekend. Who is it?
With more UFC events coming for four straight weeks, listen in for more Sharp Edges podcast episodes each of the next four Fridays!

2:30 UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Teixeira Recap
21:18 UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Harris Preview
38:30 UFC Best Bets
Live sports are back and that means the Sharp Edges Podcast is back as well. Last week’s episode covered some Coronavirus topics as well as UFC 249 and UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Teixeira. This week, Calvin and Brandon will recap Wednesday’s Fight Night and look forward to Saturday’s event, UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Harris.
First off, Calvin and Brandon take a look back at Wednesday’s event, UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Teixeira. While the card wasn’t as stacked as UFC 249 last Saturday, there were plenty of great fighters and great fights on the card.
Calvin and Brandon cover every fight and give their opinions on each fighter. Which fighters were the most impressive and which ones looked like they didn’t even belong in the octagon. A few fighters impressed both Calvin and Brandon and are on their radar for the next time they fight as a fighter to get your money on.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s UFC event, Calvin and Brandon take a look at each fight to see which ones provide the best value. Brandon sees a couple of plus money fighters that provide a ton of value and are worth betting while Calvin has a couple of bets of his own.
Closing out the show, the two give their best bets for Saturday’s event. The two agree on one fighter as their best bet for Saturday. Spoiler alert, it is an underdog. Brandon also adds in one more underdog that he thinks is a great betting option. As usual, Calvin’s other best bet is the opposing fighter of Brandon’s. Calvin got the better of Brandon last weekend, going 2-0 in their heads up bets. Who will be the winner this weekend?
Listen in to hear who you should be betting for this weekend as the UFC continues to provide us with some live betting action. After Saturday, the next UFC event is scheduled until May 30th.

1:32 Coronavirus Talk
19:05 UFC 249
54:50 UFC 249 Best Bets
55:51 UFC Fight Night Smith vs Teixeira
After a two month hiatus, Calvin and Brandon are back for another episode of the Sharp Edges podcast. It’s been a long two months but we finally have some live sports action this weekend in the United States as the UFC is set to return on May 9th.
This week’s episode starts off with some talk about the current Coronavirus issue. Brandon has been doing some extensive research over the past couple of months and gives his input on how he feels the Coronavirus situation will pan out. Calvin, on the other hand, just hopes that sports will get back to normal sooner rather than later.
Taking a look at the first live sporting event in the United States in nearly two months, Calvin and Brandon go through every match set on the UFC 249 card. Even the early prelim fights have some solid matches, one of which really intrigues Brandon.
Heading into the second wave of prelims, the card starts to get stacked. Brandon’s favorite pick of the card was set for the prelim fights. However, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza tested positive for Coronavirus shortly after the podcast was recorded. Therefore, his match with Uriah Hall has been canceled.
Once we get to the main card, we are treated with two title fights. However, Calvin’s favorite fight of the entire card isn’t one of those title fights. Instead, Calvin is excited to see an all-out brawl between two of the biggest hitters in MMA history when Francis Ngannou takes on Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
After giving out their favorite picks of the entire UFC 249 event, Calvin and Brandon take a quick look ahead to UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Teixeira which will take place on Wednesday, May 13th. Listen in to see who you should be betting on this weekend and next week. Come back next Friday as Calvin and Brandon will have more updated talks on the Coronavirus and discuss next weekend’s UFC event.

0:30 Coronavirus and Sports
28:31 Premier League Darts
This week’s Sharp Edges Podcast is certainly a different one. The sports world has abruptly come to an end. All major sports are currently being suspended and tournaments and events are being canceled. Whether or not we will have sports again anytime soon remains to be seen. It could be weeks or months before we are back to betting major sporting events.
Calvin and Brandon discuss for a bit what the coronavirus is doing to sports and what to expect (and hope) in the near future. Brandon talks about the end of days while Calvin remains optimistic that everything will be back to normal in a few weeks in the sports world. Listen in for a good laugh and decide who you agree with.
Before the end of the show, Calvin does have some actual sports betting related content. One sport still appears to remain intact and that is Premier League Darts! Listen in at the end of the podcast for some Thursday afternoon Premier League Darts action if you are jonesing for something to bet on! Either way, be safe and be careful. Let’s hope sports come back sooner than later.

It’s the six month anniversary of the first episode of the Sharp Edges podcast. Time flew by for Calvin and Brandon as it seems like it was just yesterday they had their first episode. Calvin and Brandon have produced a number of winners each week for you guys and they have been heating up a lot over the past month or so. As conference tournaments are beginning in college basketball and Selection Sunday just 10 days away, Calvin and Brandon are hitting their betting peaks at the right time. It’s not just all basketball, as they talk some XFL action, Brandon informs you on some UFC action this weekend and Calvin talks a little Premier League Darts action.
Wichita State and Memphis lead off the college basketball card. It’s a big AAC matchup for both teams but Memphis needs this game more. They are small favorites at home. Can they get the crucial revenge win or will their season be in jeopardy? New Mexico and Utah State battle in the Mountain West tournament. The Lobos defeated the Aggies just last week. Can Utah State rebound and cover the big double-digit spread?
In the Pac-12, Washington State takes on a struggling Arizona. The Wildcats have lost their last three-game and the Cougars have struggled all year. Is there a good spread bet in this one or should you focus on the total instead? In another Pac-12 game, Cal takes on Oregon. The Ducks are still looking to at least get a share of the Pac-12 regular-season title. It’s another double-digit spread game but the total appears to be a better bet in this one.
XFL Week 5 is this weekend and Calvin continues to bet a couple of small games per weekend. Brandon is still doing some reconnaissance on the XFL before he begins betting. If you’re into betting the XFL listen in to a couple of Calvin’s suggestions and see if you want to fade or follow.
UFC 248 is the weekend and we will be in for some title fight action. This is a solid card with some big names and Brandon is looking forward to betting and watching this one. Brandon has a few picks he likes including a HUGE underdog that will provide an excellent payout if it hits. Calvin has a couple of fights that he likes as well, even providing methods of victory for each fight.
Finally, Calvin talks about his newly created Premier League Darts formula. This is the first week the formula is in use but you can find all of the picks on his Twitter account. In fact, you can follow both Brandon (@BettorBW) and Calvin (@mcaleecalvin) for excellent free content and picks every day! Now is the right time to follow as the action is immense and both bettors are on some great winning streaks. So listen in, get some insight and follow Calvin and Brandon on Twitter for daily action across a number of different sports. Good luck!

Calvin and Brandon kick off another episode of the Sharp Edges podcast with a recap of last week’s action, including the Deontay Wilder/Tyson Fury “fight”. Then Calvin and Brandon look at some Thursday night college basketball games and also discuss some futures bets for the NCAA championship. A quick look at some XFL and then a few fights from this weekend’s UFC card close out the show.
Calvin and Brandon recap the Wilder/Fury fight and how they both failed to make a good read on the fight. Fury dominated Wilder from the start so bad that Calvin doesn’t even consider it a fight as much as he does a beatdown. Fury is the top dog in boxing and Calvin and Brandon both look forward to what comes next in his career.
The college basketball card starts off with some Big Ten action between Ohio State and Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have struggled all year and Ohio State has been up and down, so can the Buckeyes cover the big spread? In the PAC-12, Calvin’s darkhorse team Arizona takes on USC. For the first time in a while, Calvin and Brandon have strong opposite opinions on a game. Who wins this one?
The next college basketball game comes out on the west coast as Saint Mary’s takes on Santa Clara. Santa Clara won the first meeting, at Saint Mary’s, can the Gaels get revenge or will they fall again? The final game of the episode is another PAC-12 game as in-state rivals Oregon State and Oregon battle it out. The Beavers upset the Ducks in the last game and now the Ducks are 10-point favorites. Can they really cover that high of a spread? As a bonus, Calvin and Brandon look at some of the NCAA futures bets and whom they think provide some solid value. Also, what are some good strategies for betting on futures?
Three weeks of the XFL season are in the books. Viewership is continuing to drop but both Calvin and Brandon like to tune in on weekends and check out some games. Calvin has two picks he likes this weekend for some small dough bets. Brandon, on the other hand, is going to continue to spectate without any action, for now.
Another weekend another UFC card. This weekend it is UFC Fight Night 169. The card isn’t the strongest but there is a title fight and Brandon has a few fights that he has his eye on. After looking into a few fights, Calvin and Brandon bring out their best bets of the week. They each have one UFC pick that they agree on and then their own CBB game. Listen in and get some winners. CBB formula picks are 20-10-1 over the last five episodes, so don’t miss them!

Then, they head over to the XFL to discuss what picks they favor for this weekend. Finally, they close out the episode with some UFC action followed by some discussion about this weekend’s mega-fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.
Starting off with college basketball, Calvin and Brandon take a look at a few games scheduled for tonight. Starting with UConn and Temple, Calvin likes one team to win this game outright despite recent line movements. Heading out to the Pac-12, the two cover a match between a disappointing Oregon State and a rising Arizona. Can the Wildcats cover the double-digit spread? The third game is a WCC contest between San Francisco and Gonzaga. Gonzaga only won by four in their last meeting, can they really win by 18+ points tonight? Finally, Calvin adds in six more picks that his formula likes tonight. Calvin’s CBB formula is 16-7 in the last four weeks on the Sharp Edges Podcast so make sure to listen in and get those winners!
Week 3 of the XFL is this weekend. After two weeks we start to see the league slowly take shape as we are finding out which teams are contenders and which are pretenders. Between the weekends four games, Calvin and Brandon each found two picks that they really like. Brandon even has some insight from some of the sharpest minds in Vegas and who they are rolling with this weekend.
We got another UFC card this weekend as UFC Fight Night 168 takes place in New Zealand. Brandon believes this is a sneaky good card with some fights that could be very entertaining. Throughout the whole card, Brandon has three or four fights that he really likes and will be putting his money on. Calvin sees two fights of his own that he likes and will be betting as well.
Finally, Calvin and Brandon take a look at this weekend’s mega-fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury. It’s a rematch of the fight that ended in a draw more than a year ago. Many believe this will be one of the biggest boxing matches in over a decade and Calvin and Brandon agree. Who do they think has the upper hand in this match? They both are declaring this boxing match one of their best bets followed by Brandon’s UFC best bet and Calvin’s CBB best bet. Can’t get enough free winners? We’re about halfway through the month of February which means college basketball is starting to get closer to tournament time. Calvin and Brandon take a look at some games tonight that could be key in deciding what teams will be dancing come March and which ones will be sitting at home watching like the rest of us. The XFL had a successful first week and Calvin and Brandon are ready to discuss a few picks this weekend as they take their first crack at the new league. Brandon has another UFC event this weekend he wants to discuss and Calvin has a surprising sport to talk about at the end of the show.
Starting off with college basketball, Calvin and Brandon take a look at two AAC games. The first one is Wichita State and UCF. Wichita State has lost their last three games but is favored tonight. Can they not only get the win but the cover tonight or will they continue to slide? The next AAC game is Cincinnati against Memphis. The Tigers won the last meeting but the Bearcats are huge favorites tonight. Who gets the cover?
In the Big Ten, Calvin and Brandon take a look at a matchup between Iowa and Indiana. Iowa is a ranked team now while Indiana has been tanking of late. The Hoosiers are a small favorite and they need this game for their tournament resume`, can they pull it off? Out in the Pac-12, two ranked teams in Oregon and Colorado face off. Colorado got the best of Oregon last month, can the Ducks get their revenge? Calvin throws in two more quick picks that his formula absolutely loves tonight. The CBB formula is 12-5 over the last three Sharp Edges Podcasts. It’s time to jump on the hype train!
Brandon takes a look at some key UFC fights this weekend. After seeing a bad showing by the judges last week, Brandon is looking forward to this weekend’s card with better fights and better judging. Anderson and Blachowicz meet in the main event with the winner moving one step closer to taking on Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title. A few other fights caught Brandon’s eye this week as he is expecting a solid card from top to bottom.
Week two of the XFL is just two days away. All eight teams will be in action again and Calvin and Brandon take some quick looks at this weekend’s matchups after discussing last week’s results. Calvin won his only XFL bet last week, now he is taking a stab at all four games with Brandon liking a couple himself. Before taking a look at their best bets for the week, Calvin throws in some Premier League Darts action. Week 2 of the Premier League is Thursday afternoon and Calvin quickly gives you his winners for all five matches. Never bet darts before? Neither has Brandon but Calvin has been doing it for years. Listen in, get your picks and see for yourself if darts is entertaining (and profitable) enough for you to become a fan. As always, the two share their best bets for the week to close out the show. Best of luck to everyone on their bets this weekend!

Also, Brandon has some news about Mayweather that you probably haven’t heard anywhere else yet. After talking about some NFL (and XFL) action, Calvin and Brandon discuss six college basketball games. Don’t forget about UFC 247 this weekend. It may not be the best card but Brandon still likes a few fights to bet on this weekend.
Calvin and Brandon open the show up with a recap of last week’s picks. The CBB formula went 5-2 but Calvin’s prop bets didn’t turn out that great as he is 0-6 in his last six Super Bowl coin tosses. The two discuss some solid betting options for next year’s Super Bowl winning team as well as next year’s MVP. The XFL also starts this weekend and Calvin and Brandon are excited and looking forward to a few more months of football.
Turning over to college basketball, the first game is an AAC matchup between UCONN and Tulsa. The Huskies are underdogs and have lost some close games this season, can they cover against the Golden Hurricane? In Calvin’s favorite game of the night, Austin Peay takes on Tennessee State. Two high-scoring teams, who has the upper hand and will get the cover? Tulane is a huge underdog against Houston. The Green Wave have been struggling but can they cover the big spread against the Cougars?
One of Brandon’s favorite games of the night is New Mexico State vs Chicago State. Chicago State is arguably the worst team in the country but the spread is nearly 24 points. Can the Aggies cover the big spread? In a Pac-12 matchup, Stanford takes on Utah. The line has shifted to make the Utes the new favorites. Is that the right move? In another Pac-12 game, UCLA takes on Arizona State. UCLA is one the rise and Arizona State is up-and-down. Who gets the cover tonight?
Before talking best bets, Calvin and Brandon discuss some UFC 247 action this weekend. Jon Jones takes on Dominick Reyes in the main event. Brandon has a few fights he likes to talk about and even a parlay to help you get some added value. Calvin has some research to share on this and why he likes one side a lot more than the other. Also, what will be the jersey number of the guy who scores the first touchdown?
Heading over to college basketball, the first game on the slate is Utah vs USC. USC is a big favorite at home but Utah is capable of taking down any team or losing to any team. In the last game of the show, Calvin and Brandon talk about Gonzaga as they take on Santa Clara. The Bulldogs took down Santa Clara by 50 points in their last contest a couple of weeks ago. Are we going to see the same performance or can Santa Clara find a way to keep this one close?
