John Edward has competed at the highest level sof competition in track and field and CrossFit. He is a regular at our R2P office in Gambrills and shares a bit about his career and progression navigating the adaptive athlete life. Hear him talk about:
- mindset and identity as an athlete
- navigating the transition from able-bodied athlete to an adaptive athlete
- sports rehab sessions after an amputation
- evolving and adapting strategies to improve rehab across competitions
- training for longevity
- starting a non-profit to improve the community and resources for people with disabilities

Hockey is a violent, fast paced sport that will inevitably lead to injuries when played at a high level. Shoulder dislocations, rotator cuff and labrum injuries are not uncommon. Zach and Tyler discuss surgical and conservative approaches to these injuries and the outcomes found each approach.
