21 MAR. 2024 · In this special presentation, Abp. Irineos confronts the annual deluge, as western Easter approaches, of protestant citations to the Good Thief as vindication of the modern protestant "faith alone" salvation theology, and even claims that the Good Thief is the model or paradigm of our salvation.  Some even claim that the Church Fathers support their interpretation.  Looking holistically at scripture and the Fathers, Abp. Irineos urges that not only do neither support the modern conception of "faith alone" salvation, but that making that example normative is extremely dangerous to Christian believers.

21 ABR. 2021 · Bible Study on the Gospel of Mark continues as we wrap up Chapter 1 and move into Chapter 2. Unfortunately, the battery on the recorder died just as we started the discussion of the first reading in Chapter 2.

12 MAR. 2021 · In our continuing Bible Study on the Gospel of Luke, today we cover two readings: the calling of the first apostles (Mark 1:16-22) and the healing of the man with an unclean spirit in the synagogue (Mark 1:23-28).

In this class we cover the first two readings from the Gospel of Mark, ending with Christ's baptism, 40 days in the wilderness and return with the preaching of repentance.

In the first episode, we discuss the Orthodox approach to reading Holy Scripture, the background of Mark and his Gospel, and the approach we will take to studying the Gospel of Mark. 2 MAR. 2018 · In this Episode, we look at St. John Damascene's proof that God does not have a body. In a side discourse, Bp. Irineos discusses the tendencies of people to circumscribe the uncircumscribable God in order to arrive at outcomes which please them.

5 FEB. 2018 · In this chapter, we look at the nature of created and uncreated things, their changeability and free will. As Bp. Irineos says, "This is a chapter that Calvin ought to have read before he made up his TULIP."

22 ENE. 2018 · This week we continue the discussion of what we can understand and express about God, and that which we cannot. We talk about the dangers of trying to express in human terms the things of God beyond our perception, and how the Western need for proofs and logical explanation lead to error when they encroach on the mysteriological.
