About the Brand: We are a black woman owned clothing brand dedicated to promoting the acceptance of autistic people. Established in 2017, inspired by my younger brother, who has ASD. I wanted to shift the word “strange” into a good word. No brain is “normal” and we should be more inclusive towards those with differing abilities, not solely because of their gifts, but because it’s a basic human right this community deserves. We help advocate for this community by spreading awareness about injustices within the black autism community. For example, Matthew Rushing’s case of being incarcerated after law enforcement ignored his ASD diagnosis, and coerced him into a plea deal. Miami Carnival's Premier Band - Party Room Squad
12 JUL. 2024 · The Party Room Squad was founded in 1995 by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Montes Jr. The Party Room Squad’s mission is to introduce, educate and promote the Caribbean Carnival to the younger generation in the neighborhood and to preserve the Caribbean Carnival’s traditions that were slowly eluding our new adopted culture.
The Party Room Squad assures that it emphasizes to its masqueraders the possibility of the global reach that can be obtained; that the historical roots are maintained; and a multiracial patrimony is developed to protect the Caribbean Carnival’s standing in the community. While emphasizing the history of the Caribbean Carnival, the younger generation is exposed to the different views and cultural aspects that would be unavailable to them if not for their participation with The Party Room Squad.
The younger generation is tasked to be creative and become the central focus of our current achievements. At the beginning of the Carnival season, some of the younger members of the Party Room Squad work as a team to determine the theme, colors and budget for the upcoming Caribbean Carnival Parade.
As a masquerading band, we understand both the social and the historical aspects of the Caribbean Carnival. By uniting the different age groups in the formation of teams, we create a unique Carnival culture. Information is passed on to the younger generation through mentoring, teaching and by restoring the legends of the Caribbean Carnival back to the community at large. All this will allow for the culture of the Caribbean Carnival to foster, grow and maintain itself as the spectacular showcase that it is now.

Undercook your pasta because even when you take it out of boiling water it is still cooking!
To prepare the sauce, sauté fresh garlic in oil, deglaze with white wine … and mix in salt and black pepper.
To make the sauce, use only San Marzano tomatoes—they are imported from Italy and are naturally sweet without an acidic taste. With a stick or a home blender, puree the tomatoes and combine with the sautéed garlic mixture. Do not add sugar! Simmer it all on “low” for 4 hours.
Make the meatballs as big as a softball … the smaller you make the balls, the harder they become when you cook ‘em. Use 80/20 ground beef/ground pork, parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, eggs, cream, salt and pepper, and olive oil. Says Frankie, “The better the meatball, the more protection I had in The Joint!” Put the balls into the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees … take ‘em out, flip them and cook for the same amount of time … and that’s it.
Simplicity is the essence of Italian cooking!

Behind The Fun: Exit Game OC
10 JUN. 2024 · Exit Game OC opened its doors on September 25th, 2021 was created by long-time enthusiasts Christine Barger-Lutes & Jeremiah Lutes. It was obvious to anyone that knows the couple that the first escape room they would create would be in the horror genre as they both LOVE haunted houses and horror movies. They plan to design & build 3 escape games in the location on White Star in Anaheim.
Jeremiah Lutes loves interactive and immersive storytelling, whether it's immersive theater, haunted houses, or escape rooms. He has a passion for all things horror and has been involved horror movie industry where he did the casting for Full Moon Features. He is excited to now be working with his wife to create immersive escape room experiences for everyone to enjoy.
Christine Barger-Lutes favorite things to do at the escape room are art & social media. She has been a content creator personally on social media platforms for years. She is also an actor & ventriloquist. She has shared her passion through her blog/youtube channel The Haunt Girl over the past 9 years by covering hundreds of haunted attractions & escape rooms that she's been to. Christine loves the escape room community & is incredibly grateful to be a part of it as a player & owner.
