I met Georgie at a skate park whilst out with my son and observed she had a prosthetic leg from the knee down. We struck up a conversation and I was immediately blown away by her story and I asked her to stop talking and invited her onto the show. To my delight she said YES! I found Georgie to be incredibly brave, honest and funny, all rolled up with an infectious laugh to boot. I commend Georgie on her bravery and have no doubts she will use this reasonably new condition she is faced with to help others and bring positivity into peoples lives. 6 MAY. 2021 · This week on The Get Down we step away from Hip-Hop once again and Beats chats with Marshall from Third Eye Tattoo Studio down in Melbourne. Not only is Marshall incredibly talented at tattooing but I found he has an uncanny ability to have a great conversation convincing you that you have known him and been his friend for a long time. This may be due to all the hours he has spent talking to strangers in his tattoo chair, or it could be you follow his Only Fans account, and that's why you feel like you know him. Who knows. But in all honesty, I felt i could have continued this chat for hours and not become bored. Marshall was humorous and sincere and was able to articulate his passion and love of tattooing in a very undeviating way. I cant wait to sit in his chair and get tattooed by Marshall and will no doubt head out for a few cold ones after. Thanks for your time Marshall. Rodney has pioneered a definitive sound and carved a pathway for many upcoming artists in the U.K for over three decades, all the while being true and honest to himself and his music. His career has allowed him to navigate through a variety of story telling mediums. From rap to radio, right through to television and documentary making, Rodney has conquered all. I was a little nervous interviewing Rodney as he is such a master of his game, but i found his openness and genuine personality allowed me to not only complete the interview, but also gifted me the opportunity to learn from an O.G in this game that is storytelling. 22 ABR. 2021 · This week on The Get Down we are joined by the Adelaide O.G graffiti writer turned world renowned artist that is Jimmy C aka James Cochran. Jimmy made his bones back in the early 90's honing his skills illegally in the cold dark streets & train yards of Adelaide, South Australia. Many would have dismissed Jimmy as nothing but a vandal and hooligan, but he is living proof that if you put your mind to it and trust the process, you can go on to make a living doing what you truly love. As a young fella, I marveled at the gems Jimmy would treat us with on his late night missions all over the city and as an adult I am equally impressed by the amazing art he develops today. This is a true South Australian success story of following your dreams and a nice little reminder to not be too harsh on your kids if you catch them coming home with spray paint on their hands. I have know Realz for a long time, and although were were never the closest of friends, we have had many intellectual chats over the years and I have always had respect for him. Always well composed and armed with a good sense of humour and able to be razzed up without getting upset. More recently Realizm has utilized his talents to follow his dreams and now lives in his self sustainable Batman inspired mansion in a secret location in Adelaide.
