31 OCT. 2024 · Alex Kraszewski, the top PR man at Dover Downs, is this week's guest on our Harness Racing Alumni Show. A.K. talks about Dover Downs upcoming meet which starts this Monday November 4th. Alex shares with our audience information on several drivers and trainers that will be competing at Dover’s upcoming 85-day meet. He also talks about Dover’s featured races this season that includes the 3-year-olds Progress Pace with eliminations on Nov 21st and the final on Nov 27th. Then there’s the Metron Series which features some of the sports top 2- and 3-year-old pacers and trotters. It kicks off on Nov 11th. Bob Marks and Alex chat about when they use to work together at Roosevelt Raceway, and they discuss the NY Yankees and how they saw Bob Boni at this year's world series. Plus, Andy Cohen’s report. Tim talks about his horse Timeisonmyside who is racing in the 3-year-old colts and geldings Breeders Crown Final Saturday night at the Meadowlands. The Alliance represents both thoroughbred and standardbred racing in the state of Virginia. Darrell talks about the current meet at Shenandoah Downs that closes on October 27th. It is highlighted by the Virginia Breeders Championship races offering $700 thousand in purses. He talks about how they promote their tracks which draws the local college kids that come out to the races. Wood talks about the charitable work that they do in financially supporting the equine retirement organizations and the fine support that Virginia racing receives from both Governor Glenn Youngkins and his wife Suzanne.
