But collecting just sounds so minimal considering all the work the put in for the entire year! Storing, collecting, counting and then the ultimate pay-off of donation! 12 ABR. 2022 · According to Wikipedia Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans. It is also often observed for celebrating African-American culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1865. I sat down with the Harrisburg Chapter of Young Professionals of Color (YPOC). Our conversation went a bit deeper then the Celebration itself. In fact, the conversation explored avenues for which I may never understand, because I didn't live in their shoes. What I can say is platforms like mine give other people a chance to listen and hopefully inspire.
