The Knights Open Circuit is a podcast created by IEEE UCF, an electrical engineering organization at the University of Central Florida and the student branch of the global organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. IEEE UCF created this podcast so students can get the chance to learn more about the background of professionals in the EE workforce, such as engineers, professors, and researchers.

16 FEB. 2021 · Josh Khani is an associate principal engineer at NEI Electrical Power Engineering. Josh has worked with NEI for the last eight years as a power systems engineer working on renewable energy interconnections. Josh received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from FSU, received his master's in telecommunications from CU Boulder, holds a PE license, and is a member of IEEE Power and Energy Society.

17 DIC. 2020 · Allen Parker is an electrical engineer at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). He is the lead for the FOSS team which stands for Fiber Optic Sensing System. He graduated from Prairie View A&M University and then Texas A&M University.
Jonathan Lopez is an aerospace engineer at NASA AFRC. He was a NASA NIFS intern for 2 rotations and was a NASA Pathways intern for a year before being hired. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach, and was hired as a full-time employee this fall.
27 NOV. 2020 · Halle Fields graduated in 2019 from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Honors, with minors in Business Technology and Mathematics. Currently, she is a full-time Software Developer at the Federal Reserve and part-time Computer Science graduate student at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering.
5 NOV. 2020 · Andres Vargas is an accomplished Industrial engineer and MBA graduate with 7 years of work-related experience in Systems Engineering, Quality Assurance, Life Cycle Cost analysis, and data analytics. Andres currently works as Mission Assurance lead at Northrop Grumman systems. A proven leader with experience leading organizations such as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at the student and professional levels. He's won two Quality is Personal Awards from Northrop Grumman and various other awards throughout his career.
16 OCT. 2020 · Dr. Reza Abdolvand, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCF. He leads a research group called Dynamic Microsystems Lab, advising several researchers on a variety of projects in the field of micro-electro-mechanical systems. He and his team have authored more than 80 journal and conference papers and two book chapters and his group is world-renowned for their contributions in the fast-growing thin-film piezoelectric resonator technology and its applications.
Dr. Abdolvand also teaches a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the general area of microelectronics including linear circuits I and II, Electronics I and II, Introduction to MEMS, Introduction to Sensors, and two graduate courses on microfabrication techniques. Dr. Abdolvand is the recipient of the 2019 UCF teaching Incentive Award, and the recipient of the 2018 College of Engineering Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.
