  • Emmy Award-winner Kevin Spirtas on After Forever's Final Season

    20 JUN. 2024 · Emmy Award-winner Kevin Spirtas sat down in The Locher Room to discuss the final season of his Emmy winning series, After Forever (Amazon Prime). A story about love, loss, and new beginnings, Season One made history by becoming the first LGBTQ-themed drama series to win six Emmy Awards across any platform. Kevin will look back at his 40-year career that began at 18 on Broadway in A Chorus Line. He is most recognized for his eight-year stint as Dr. Craig Wesley on Days of Our Lives well as the cult classic film sequels: Friday the 13th – Part VII: The New Blood, and Wes Craven’s: The Hills Have Eyes – Part II. Before departing DOOL in 2000, Kevin had the great opportunity to play his Days character opposite Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Dr. Drake Ramory’ on Friends: The One That Could Have Been- Part 1. Kevin returned to Salem and his role in 2022 to ‘come out’ of the closet. A full circle moment for the soap opera character, and another Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer.   • From Guiding Light to Healing Hearts and Minds: A Conversation with William Bumiller

    13 JUN. 2024 · Actor turned therapist, William Bumiller, sat down in The Locher Room to discuss the importance of Mental Health Awareness.  Guiding Light fans will remember Bill for his role as “Sean McCullough”, “Reva’s” island guy when Annie left her to die on the plane. In addition to his role on Guiding Light, Bill has appeared on several hit primetime series including Mork & Mindy, Wings, The Golden Girls, The Nanny, Ellen, Chicago Hope, Judging Amy and so much more. Bill went back to school and earned his graduate degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and is currently specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. He will tell us about his work today with a broad spectrum of clients in an effort to help streamline and improve their communication skills to assist in resolving any relational issues, be they intimate, familial, or work related.  Catch up with Bill to learn more about his career in front of the camera and what led to his transition helping others attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

  • Disney Animation Legend Andreas Deja

    4 JUN. 2024 · Disney Animation Legend Andreas Deja sat down for a one-on-one interview to tell us all about his 10-year labor of love, Mushka. Mushka is a short film told in exquisite and stylish hand-drawn animation by this director and animator. Mushka is the emotional and exciting story of a young girl named Sarah and her unlikely friendship with a tiger cub. The film is Andreas’s directorial debut. Mushka, created in the 2-D style of 101 Dalmatians is his homage to classic Disney animation. Andreas is a Polish-born American animator/director, most noted for his 30-year career at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His work includes supervising animation on characters in many Disney animated films, including villains Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, and the titular character in Hercules, and Lilo, in Lilo & Stitch.   • One-on-One with Golden Globe Nominee Mel Harris!

    30 MAY. 2024 · Golden Globe nom inee Mel Harris joins me to discuss her new role in the film, the comedy-drama Queen of Knives. The film is available to rent/own on all digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms worldwide, as well as on DVD. Mel made her television debut in 1986, with a small role in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. It was her first starring role, as Hope Murdoch Steadman in the ABC drama series Thirtysomething (1987–1991) that earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a television series. Queen of Knives also stars Gene Pope, who also produced and co-wrote the movie with Lindsay Joy. The film follows the Benetto family, which is scattered to the winds in Brooklyn, NY. There’s no predicting where they will end up. Relationships keep shifting. Generations keep trying to adapt to a new world. Risky behavior is the norm. Eventually, their paths all lead back to a fateful dinner at their former home, with surprise visitors and lots of unintended consequences. Where secrets are revealed, and a final page is turned. Richard just appeared in the new Max series, The Girls on the Bus. On Broadway, Richard appeared in Happy New Year!, Love! Valour!     23 MAY. 2024 · Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer Laurence A. Caso sat down for a one-on-one interview with The Locher Room to look back at his time as Executive Producer. He produced over 1700 As the World Turns episodes between 1988 and 1995. After three seasons at the Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, MA, Laurence joined CBS in Los Angeles to work on the development of comedy and drama series (WKRP in Cincinnati, Alice, Dallas, White Shadow). In New York worked as the VP of Daytime Programs and Director of Specials, where he developed: animation (Peanuts, Garfield), documentaries (The Body Human), variety (Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Anne Murray, Lily Tomlin, Crystal Gayle, etc.) award shows (Grammys, Tony Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Kennedy Center Honors), parades (CBS All-American Thanksgiving, Cotton Bowl, Rose Bowl), movies (Playing For Time starring Vanessa Redgrave, Bil featuring Mickey Rooney and Dennis Quaid), and mini-series (Guyana Tragedy). He was also VP of Programs for the start-up of the Disney Channel. Today, Laurence is Executive Director of the Klein Memorial Auditorium Foundation after having served on their board of directors for 5 years. Hear memories from this prolific producer.
