What makes this podcast, and Allan's personal journey, also recounted in his book, “Zentrepreneurism” extraordinary? In the quest for success the real values in our lives can often be lost. Mere existence takes over. Coming to realize the loss and seeking out another way is Allan's story. As the same realization dawns for more and more people in Western Society, Allan's story symbolizes everyone's story. That is why it's extraordinary.

22 NOV. 2023 · On today's episode I'm going to look at how winning and losing shapes our lives, and why our society and big business has endorsed and even perpetuated the addiction. According to psychology professor Ian Robertson, of Trinity College in Dublin, "Winning's probably the single most important thing in shaping people's lives." Robertson has studied winning, and what winning can mean. "All species have hierarchies," he told Spencer. "And your position in that hierarchy will determine your health, your mental function, your mood."Robertson argues in his book, "The Winner Effect," that the reason it's so much fun to win is largely chemical. "Winning increases testosterone, which in turn increases the chemical messenger dopamine, and that dopamine hits the reward network in the brain, which makes us feel better." Feel better . . . and, it seems, even live longer. It turns out Nobel Prize winners outlive the also-brilliant Nobel nominees by roughly two years. Baseball players who make it into the Hall of Fame have a couple of years on players who are turned away. In Hollywood, it's really Winner Takes All: Academy Award-winners live, on average, four years longer than other actors. Olympians aren't the only ones who hate coming up short. We ALL do, and that keeps business booming for sports psychologist William Wiener. His clients -- from pro athletes to Little Leaguers (and, of course, their parents) -- have one thing in common, he says: "In their minds, losing is catastrophic." There's always going to be a major emphasis on winning, because that's just the way society is. That's just the way our culture is: That you want to be number one at the end. So if anyone asks me why I’m on my own personal mission from God, my answer is; “In many ways I figure, it’s time somebody spoke God’s truth about what’s going on in the rapidly changing, very frightening, and unpredictable Israel-Hamas War.'“

20 SEP. 2023 · “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” presents a flawed, decadent universe — but one that is unapologetically, proudly Jewish. While the portrait of contemporary Judaism is not flattering, it is supremely confident. No one in the film bemoans being Jewish (except to lament having to memorize the Haftarah portion). So confident are the creators, in fact, that they don’t feel the Jewish enterprise is undermined by making the normative character a Christian. He’s there to set the Jews back on the right path, not supplant or replace them.
Which makes “YASNITMB” an appropriate film for the High Holidays and its message of return, repentance and repair. In its world, Aleinu has come true, and everyone is Jewish. 18 MAY. 2023 · After watching the movie “Beef” on Netflix, I am convinced that the world is going through an “anger epidemic”and its’ percolating just beneath the surface of those affected, and it can pop up it’s ugly head at the slightest provocation or need to vent.
It’s almost looking for it’s next victim. And generally the victim is not even aware that they are next because it’s usually not about them.
This episode is about the tormented perpetrator who has “simply had enough”. How are you dealing with your own pent up and repressed anger? Are you agitated all the time? Does the slightest provocation ,move you from agitation to overt anger? Does it matter where you are? In the car, at the store, at home, at work, or riding your bike? Is that dark passenger always with you?
There have now been 199 mass shootings in the U.S. this year…the most ever. We will hear why, as explained by a noted criminologist.
