#TheAltWithMel began out of necessity. Upon moving to New York City and breaking into the industry Melvin began "The Alternative" in a studio apartment thus beginning his path. The name comes from listening to ‘B-Side’ records and enjoying them more than the ‘A-Side’ as well as having the freedom to play music he felt should be highlighted versus songs constantly heard on the charts.
