15 FEB. 2023 · For the final episode of this wonderful series of This City, I am joined by - let’s be honest - London Royalty. It’s drag superstar, model, published author and recording artist - Bimini Bon-Boulash!
Sadiq Khan himself said that they reflect the best of our city, and you’ll absolutely hear that in this episode. From travelling to London as a kid and finding their people, to their days as a journalism student and nights out in their best charity shop fits, to getting woken up in their Brick Lane flat by Jack the Ripper tours… it’s all in here babes!

My guest this episode is the wonderful published author, activist, presenter, model, and DJ Munroe Bergdorf.
We talk about SO much…. from fashion faux pas while clubbing in noughties London, to taking public transport as a trans person, her journey from fashion PR to regular FROW at Fashion Week, as well as how seeing London as a child showed Munroe a glimpse of an exciting future for her in the capital.
I am forever in awe of Munroe and all of the incredible things she does, she is a fab guest, so I hope you love exploring her version of the City!

Let me tell you, this episode of full of excellent nostalgia, as Target has just wrapped filming the TV adaptation of his excellent book Grime Kids, and we talk about those early days of grime; from the East London basketball court to Rinse FM.
And of course, you know I love to talk about the fashion, and Target tells me about the throwbacks with the wardrobe department while filming the show, and his best and worst looks from back in the day!
I love love loved hearing all of Target’s stories about getting into music and the journey he has been on. We see each other every day at radio, but it’s so rare we get to chat like this, so I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!

I first fell in love with Rylan during his stint on the X Factor with Sherzy, and I’ve followed his stratospheric career from Big Brother, to daytime TV, BBC Radio, to being a household name and beyond!
In this episode, Rylan clears up any rumours that he’s an Essex Boy (he’s from Stepney in East London), and we chat about his early life at home with Linda, his early nights out in Soho and the FASHION… oh my goodness the fashion!

In this episode, born and bred Londoner Emer takes us around her ends of North London, from not learning Irish at the Irish Centre, to a journey from Angel that led to a bus stop proposal! You know I LOVE a love story!

I am, of course, delighted to introduce this weeks guest - my good friend and fellow Ghanaian, he’s a published author and the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue… it’s Edward Enninful!
We start at Edward’s first London home in Vauxhall, before moving on to Ladbroke Grove, and then heading all over our fair city for various parties and club nights - even sneaking out to raves in Mitcham. And of course, you’ve got to get back from the parties, so the hallowed night bus gets a special mention in this episode!
Talking to Edward was such a tonic, and SO much fun; we of course chat fashion, shopping, and which South London babe throws the best parties: Kate or Naomi?!

Not only do Loyle and I cross paths at various music events, he’s been in on my radio show countless times, but he’s also my neighbour, and I often catch him locally with his partner and his little one which is always a joy!
On this episode we chat about Loyle’s early life in South-East London, his experiences at different schools, his humbling early gigs, and some mad stories from people and places in This City!
Plus, big ups to Little Loyle for his excellent cameo appearance in this episode!

I LOVED chatting to Candice, we reminisced about the fashion, family, Brixton, the nights out, our school days, and we also talked about the realities of living in London today - and why getting pregnant with her son changed her perspective on the city as a home for her family.

It is impossible not to feel joy listening to Zuu on any occasion, and even more so when he’s talking about This City!
