The architect, activist and journalist Jos Boys had a guest professorship at The Royal Danish Academy between 2022 and 2025. To commemorate this, and reflect on the past three years of research, Jos will chair three 45-minute podcasts with the Royal Danish Academy faculty, students and other guests.
Each episode explores different ways of re-thinking Universal Design. The podcasts aim to build on already existing collaborations at the Academy, to capture and share creative ways of engaging more creatively with issues of disability, access and inclusion. The podcast is called ‘Universal Design and…” the discussions will cover different key themes that have arisen during the professorship.
The podcast Universal Design And… is made by The Royal Danish Academy, celebrating the guest professorship of Jos Boys from 2022-2025 and hosted by the architect and activist herself. The professorship was funded by Bevica Foundation. The podcast was produced with the help of Rakkerpak Productions.

The last episode in the series of Universal Design and…focuses on the knowledge gained by negotiating inaccessible designs that disabled people have. We also talk about the importance om enabling disabled people to become designers in their own right, as well as being involved in design and educational processes.
