9 MAR. 2022 · As with Jesus and Peter we too begin our walk with Jesus on Ash Wednesday. I have chosen to begin not with ashes on the foreheads but with a word of remembrance, that we are Baptized in Christ.

13 MAR. 2022 · Today we begin our journey to Holy Week. Jesus enters Jerusalem like a conquering hero. But the day does not end like that.

13 MAR. 2022 · After Palm Sunday Jesus returned to Bethany, presumably the house of Mary, Martha and Lazarus, where he often stayed. On Monday we find him returning to Jerusalem, though his mood is not as joyous as on Palm Sunday.

20 MAR. 2022 · Tuesday of Holy Week is a very long day for Jesus. In the morning he is tested repeatedly by the Priests, Scribes, Sadducees and Pharisees, and even one individual. In the afternoon he shares with the disciples about the end of time and the trials they will face. This is a long reading with some powerful teachings.

27 MAR. 2022 · Most Biblical scholars have determined that the Gospels are silent on Wednesday. It is as if nothing happened. After the excitement, the emotional ups and downs of Tuesday, perhaps they just needed a day of rest. When we do that, we lose this wonderful story of the Woman’s Gift or The Anointing at Bethany.

3 ABR. 2022 · Finally, the Passover Meal. We will rethink our understanding of The Last Supper. We will re-examine the message of Communion - Peter is slightly different than the other Gospel writers. We will understand how this day shapes all Christianity, even to this day.

10 ABR. 2022 · Good Friday begins at midnight and runs like a train until just before sundown. It is like a runaway train, it just keeps running – crashes – and slowly rolls over to a grinding stop.
