About the Nashville City Cemetery Association:
The Nashville City Cemetery Association (NCCA) is administered by an all volunteer board of directors. The Association board works with the Metro Historical Commission and the Metro Board of Parks & Recreation. NCCA works closely with the Metro Historical Commission to restore the cemetery and to increase awareness through public participation. NCCA is involved with sponsoring special tours that are open and free to the public, in addition to fundraising activities, including the annual fall Living History Tour/Lantern Tours, the Memorial Day Dash in May, and in developing the NCCA website to make available inscriptions and photographs of tombstones, interment records, obituaries, and historical information for those buried at City Cemetery.The Nashville City Cemetery Association, Inc. is a membership organization that works to protect, preserve, restore and raise public awareness of the Nashville City Cemetery in collaboration with the Historical Commission of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee.

Our Mission: Since 2006 it has been Spirit of Children Halloween’s mission to use the excitement of Halloween and imagination to bring communities closer and help make a child’s medical journey less scary. With support from passionate guests, help from our vendors and licensing partners, we have raised over $127 million and counting to support Child Life Services.
We Put Your Dollars to Work: Every penny of each donation made to Spirit of Children goes directly to each store’s local partner hospital’s Child Life Department to support children and their families while they receive care. Partner hospitals use donations to provide critical child life staff, sibling and family support services, sensory equipment, and patient-focused resources, including therapy programming, toys, crafts, art supplies, and so much more. Plus, every Halloween all partner hospitals receive packages filled with costumes, accessories, coloring books, crayons and tote bags to help facilitate festive Halloween celebrations for patients, caregivers, and their families.

The Halloween Helpers

Halloween is one of the most important events in a young child’s life. It provides lifelong memories, develops self-worth, and allows kids to play an active role in their community. Unfortunately, many children are unable to participate in this fun, annual experience because they do not have a costume.
Developed in 2008 by then 11-year-old Emma Rose Shapiro the mission of The Halloween Helpers is to collect previously-enjoyed, gently-used Halloween costumes and donate them to children who may not typically be able to participate in this yearly celebration.
Thanks to your generosity, The Halloween Helpers has had amazing success, In 2009, Emma collected more than 2,000 costumes. All were donated to children served by the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League. To date, Emma has gathered more than 15,000 costumes -- all donated to children in need throughout the WORLD!
In 2023, we distributed 2,400 costumes to children served by these organizations:

Don’t Be A Monster (DBAM) is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works alongside Haunted Attractions in the United States to bring a message of bullying prevention to students in 4th-10th grade. After a multi-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been difficult to re-establish our platform to the extent we had it in 2019. Therefore, we have taken a long look at how we can make the strongest impact and have landed on a refreshed DBAM foundation program.Our goals and vision remain the same: to work towards a world where kindness is empowering and uniqueness is celebrated.
Our adjustment is in how we are managing our outreach. Don’t Be A Monster will be raising funds to support vetted programs that we find to be making a true impact. Our team is diving into financial records to ensure every dollar is used to its fullest extent to bring a message of love and acceptance to schools and children everywhere.This year's benefactor is The Cybersmile Foundation (Cybersmile) is a multi-award winning nonprofit organization committed to digital wellbeing and tackling all forms of bullying and abuse online. Founded in 2010, Cybersmile has grown to become one of the world's leading anti-cyberbullying and digital wellbeing nonprofit organizations.
Registered as a 501(c)3, Cybersmile provides education programs, support services, and messages of hope and positivity while maintaining core values of inclusion, equality and compassion.DBAM's goal is to raise $30,000 for Cybersmile to create bespoke educational modules that will allow haunted attractions to host their own presentations again, and for all haunt and halloween lovers to have programming that speaks directly to them. October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month.
Our goal is to have resources available for haunted attractions to host assemblies during the "Halloween Season" (late September through early November). Each assembly is presented by a local DBAM https://www.dontbeamonster.org/request-an-assembly. With them is our mascot Frank, who teaches kids to celebrate our differences.
