Do you fear failure? Everybody does to some degree. Even the idea of failing can keep people back from aiming higher and pressing forward. Some see failure as fatal, but there is life after you fail. This week we explore this “f-word” and engage in how we can take a step back to glean lessons from failure. When you take time to work through it, you find your best learning comes from your best teacher - failure.
No great success is attained without failure along the way. And although success shows up differently for each of us, the common ground we share is the ingredient of failure. It takes resilience to rise after failure. And we discuss three ways to embrace failure with renewed thinking.
1. You are a student of life, and failure is the teacher.
Failure will take you out of your comfort zone, and that is where you find growth.
2. Learn more about who you are.
Your most important responsibility after failure is how you respond. Are you ready to give up? Or will you be willing to keep moving forward?
3. Embrace failure as part of your evolution.
Success leaves clues but so does failure. Achieving personal best can mean you need to push yourself. Once you move past your limits you can begin to learn how to maximize from failure.
There are some invaluable lessons from failure. But first, you must redefine how you see failure to develop a new healthy perspective. Failure is part of life and exposes opportunities to learn and acquire new skills.
