Sposarsi per finta non è una novità, si è sempre fatto in chiesa. Le novità sono altre.

La gente si è sempre sposata per finta. Pensate a tutte le cerimonie per il 30º, 40º, 50º anniversario di matrimonio dove la gente, diciamo marito e moglie, perché quelli sono i ruoli tradizionali, tornano anche in chiesa, a volte davanti a un prete e fanno finta di sposarsi di nuovo.

I finti matrimoni che si vedono oggi hanno un carattere un po' particolare, diciamo che sono più ecumenici per rimanere in tema religioso, perché non sono affatto dei matrimoni. La gente si sposa per finta, lo fa spesso in location da sogno, tipo le navi da crociera con scale di cristallo Swarovski e tutto il personale in alta divisa schierato ai lati tipo Cenerentola.

Però ci sono anche matrimoni finti, finti tra virgolette, perché queste persone magari non si possono sposare realmente, pensiamo a tutti i limiti che la legislazione italiana mette ai matrimoni veri, tutte le persone che non si possono sposare per un motivo o per l'altro.

Tra questi matrimoni ci sono però anche delle cerimonie laico-umanistiche che cercano di portare via alla chiesa quello che è il primato del fare le cose in grande, perché ci vuole poco per arrivarci, un matrimonio civile davanti al sindaco dura più o meno quanto questi miei tre minutini grezzi, finisce in fretta e furia, e c'è chi non vuole rinunciare (ed è giusto che sia così) all'idea di un matrimonio in grande pompa, con un sacco di invitati, con i discorsi, con tutta l'ufficialità e tutta la regia e tutta la teatralità che invece è garantita dal matrimonio in chiesa. Infatti anche il l'Unione degli Agnostici Italiani [nota di trascrizione: il nome esatto è Unione degli Atei e degli Agnostici Razionalisti] offre queste cerimonie con tanto di script e tanto di sceneggiatura che le mette al pari delle dei matrimoni fatti in chiesa.

Io mi sono sposata durante la pandemia con mio marito, i testimoni e mio figlio, eravamo praticamente in cinque. Il tutto è durato meno di 3 minuti e poi naturalmente non abbiamo potuto fare niente perché era piena pandemia. Ma diciamo che per per fare un contratto - perché questo è quello che volevamo fare noi - è bastato e avanzato. Poi tutte le nostre manifestazioni d'amore e ce le facciamo, dai, dico una cosa super sdolcinata, ogni mattina quando mio marito mi prepara il caffè, questo sì che è vero amore.

Among these weddings, however, there are also secular-humanistic ceremonies that try to take away from the church what is the primacy of doing things big, because it's not difficult to understand, a civil wedding in front of the mayor lasts more or less as long as this 3-minute podcast of mine, ends in a rush, and there are those who do not want to give up (and rightly so) the idea of a wedding with great pomp, with lots of guests, with speeches, with all the official mood, and all the direction and all the theatricality that is instead guaranteed by a wedding in the church. In fact, even the Union of Italian Agnostics [transcription note: the exact name is Union of Atheists and Rationalist Agnostics] offers these ceremonies complete with scripts and screenplays that put them on a par with church weddings.

I got married during the pandemic with my husband, witnesses and my son, there were practically five of us. The whole thing lasted less than 3 minutes and then of course we couldn't do anything because it was full pandemic. But let's say that in order to sign a contract - because this is what we wanted to do - it was more than enough. Because we display our love, allow me to say something super schmaltzy, my husband shows me his love every morning when he makes me coffee, this is true love.
