Il libro è un libro illustrato, di un autore tedesco, come avrete capito dal titolo e dal nome, però non c'è bisogno di capire il tedesco per capire tutta la nostalgia che traspare da queste, da queste fotografie. Cosa ha fatto Willy Puchner? Si è costruito due pinguini in grandezza naturale, quindi due pinguini imperiali, Joe e Sally. The book is a picture book, by a German author, as you may have guessed from the title and the name, however, you don't need to understand German to understand all the nostalgia that shines through these, these photographs. What did Willy Puchner do? He built himself two life-size penguins, so two imperial penguins, Joe and Sally . Jo is tall, about five feet tall and weighs five and a half pounds, and Sally is a little smaller, a little shorter, five feet tall and ten pounds. And these penguins, precisely, which are life-size, he took them around the world, crossed a lot of countries New York, Sydney, Beijing, Tokyo, Paris.

And what did he do? He placed these two penguins as if they were two tourists. One of them, Joe, has a camera, an old camera hanging around his neck, and the impression it gives is really incredibly touching. It is a very gentle book, one of those books that makes you stop and think and also, why not, dream. I, inspired by this book, for a time, while travelling, carried a small plastic dinosaur with me and had a lot of fun taking pictures of the plastic dinosaur resting on the airplane window, and the effect was really very alienating.
