Af: Die son het vroegoggend oor Kaapstad opgekome, en die lug was helder en blou.
En: The sun rose early over Cape Town, and the sky was clear and blue.

Af: Johan, Annika, en Pieter het besluit om 'n dag op Tafelberg deur te bring.
En: Johan, Annika, and Pieter decided to spend a day on Table Mountain.

Af: Hulle het almal stapklere aangetrek en genoeg water ingepak.
En: They all dressed in hiking clothes and packed enough water.

Af: Met groot opgewondenheid het hulle die staproete begin.
En: With great excitement, they began the hiking trail.

En: The ground was rough and rocky, but the view was breathtaking.

En: Annika took some ice from her backpack and put it on Johan's ankle.

Af: "Dit sal help met die pyn," het sy gesê.
En: "This will help with the pain," she said.

Af: Pieter het sy selfoon gevat en vir hulp gebel.
En: Pieter took his cellphone and called for help.

Af: Hulle het saam gesit en gewag vir die reddingspan.
En: They sat together and waited for the rescue team.

Af: Johan het dankbaar na sy vriende gekyk.
En: Johan looked gratefully at his friends.

Af: "Dankie dat julle hier is," het hy gesê.
En: "Thank you for being here," he said.

En: Not long after, the rescue team arrived.
