mostra másPlease join me for An Author's Afternoon featuring public relations' snarkiest publicist and new author, Jeremy Murphy. Jeremy expertly chronicles his hatred, love, indifference, amusement, and scorn for the profession in F*ck Off, Chloe due out March of 2022. From entitled millennials to surly reporters, obnoxious clients, and cumbersome, color-coded “trackers,” Murphy takes a scalpel and glass of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to the PR industry in a searing, hilarious, and pissy voice that his own psychiatrist finds “deeply concerning.” His collection of annoyances shed light on the industry’s idiosyncrasies, insanities, contradictions, and past due invoices, providing an illuminating window into the dirty world of public relations not even Xanax can help. Complementing the scathing prose are color-in illustrations by artist Darren Greenblatt, creator of the “Ugly Lives of Beautiful People” sketch series.
Murphy is the founder of 360bespoke, a media agency that provides public relations, content development, reputation management and crisis communications for clients in categories such as luxury, arts, fashion/ beauty, hospitality, travel, media, start-ups and entrepreneurs. He is especially known for securing marquee media placements for a quirky collection of clients who include a violinist, skin care brand, celebrity cosmetics line, fashion labels, world renowned florist and opera star, among others. Previously, Murphy spent 14 years at CBS where he served many roles as a Vice President, most notably as a company spokesperson and editor-in-chief.
Jeremy and I first met when I was working on As the World Turns and Guiding Light. He gained industry recognition at CBS where he created and edited its glossy magazine Watch.
Don't miss the chance to read a laugh-out-loud account of working in media and meet Jeremy right here in The Locher Room.
