In this episode of W.W.A.A. Podcast, The host Kristy Mickelsen talks with her special guest Autism and Mental health Advocate Jim Irion about his diagnosis of Autism and some of the struggles and heartache he has endured from being diagnosed later in life.
Jim tells us not only about his personal experiences but also of the research he has conducted since diagnosis.
Jim's story is one that touches the heart of the host Miss Kristy, since she has two young adult children with autism so everything that Jim talks about she has experienced with her own children. But when the conversation turned to Jims suicidal thoughts and attempts not only does Kristy fight back tears, so did Jim as the emotional roller coaster stirred within him once again and he explains what it feels like for him to be a 42 year old autistic man with very few friends, no job, and having to watch others he went to school with being married and having kids.
