Story Transcript:
En: Leaves fell slowly to the ground like golden medals in Vigeland Sculpture Park.
En: The air was cold, and fog hovered between the sculptures.
En: Siri walked into the park with a feeling of anxiety.
En: She hadn't seen her family in several years.
En: She looked around and saw Mikkel standing by one of the sculptures with a small smile.
Nb: Mikkel vinket henne bort. "Hei, Siri," sa han med lett stemme. "Så fint å se deg igjen."
En: Mikkel waved her over. "Hi, Siri," he said in a light voice. "So nice to see you again."
"Hei, Mikkel. Hvordan går det?"
En: Siri smiled back, but it was a nervous smile. "Hi, Mikkel. How are you?"
Nb: "Bra," svarte han. "Pappa er også her. Han venter ved fontenen."
En: "Good," he replied. "Dad is here too. He's waiting by the fountain."
En: They started walking toward Lars, her father, who was waiting on a bench.
Nb: Han satt med hendene foldet, stirrende ut over fontenen.
En: He sat with his hands folded, staring out over the fountain.
En: Siri felt a mixture of anger and longing.
En: This could be a chance for reconciliation, but also an opportunity for conflict.
En: "Siri," said Lars softly as she approached. There was an uncertain warmth in his voice.
Nb: "Pappa," svarte Siri, prøvde å holde stemmen rolig. "Jeg… Jeg har savnet deg."
En: "Dad," replied Siri, trying to keep her voice calm. "I... I've missed you."
En: Lars lifted his gaze. Doubt crept across his face, but he nodded. "We've all missed you."
En: The three began to walk, surrounded by the beautiful sculptures and the gentle rustle of the wind.
Nb: De snakket om hverdagslige ting, men spenningen lå tungt i lufta.
En: They talked about everyday things, but tension hung heavily in the air.
En: Siri knew they had to address what had happened, what had separated them.
En: "We need to talk," said Siri, uneasy but determined. She stopped by a sculpture of a mother and child.
En: Lars sighed but finally met her eyes. "I know," he said. "I wasn't there for you when you needed me."
En: Siri felt it like a crack in her armor. "It was difficult," she replied. "But I want to understand why. I want to know why we lost each other."
En: Mikkel stood beside them, looking like he was about to say something, but held back.
En: It was as if his presence was a bridge between them.
"I've never been good at talking about how I feel," he said. "I'm sorry for that."
En: Siri's eyes filled with tears. She realized this was what she had been waiting to hear.
Nb: "Det betyr mye å høre deg si det," svarte hun stille.
En: "It means a lot to hear you say that," she replied quietly.
En: They continued to walk, the silence between them no longer heavy, but filled with hope.
En: "Maybe we can try again," said Mikkel, breaking the silence with a cautious smile.
Nb: Siri nikket. "Ja, jeg vil gjerne det," sa hun.
En: Siri nodded. "Yes, I'd like that," she said.
En: With an agreement to put the past behind them and work toward a better future, they left the park.
En: They had started on a journey toward reconciliation.
En: Siri felt lighter, as if a part of the burden had finally been lifted from her shoulders.
En: There was still a way to go, but the autumn air now felt fresher, like a promise of better times.
