Censorship can be seen throughout history being used by tyrants to control the flow of information. It affects us all. China censors the Falun Gong and anyone who aims to search any topics or phrases the Chinese Communist Party deems anti Communist. According to a Harvard University study, over 2 million Chinese Citizens were employed as public opinion monitors. Civilians censoring civilians on behalf of the Chinese State and the Chinese Communist Party. Mao used censorship to turn news outlets into a propaganda arm. Xi does the same thing. Apple agreeing to censor messaging services of protestors against Communism in China. Apple now has a mechanism in their device which allows a user to remove someone or something completely from the photograph. Which sounds like a very Orwellian concept. The concept of a capability to “unperson” someone, As George Orwell wrote of in 1984. Which meant to erase the existence of someone entirely.
