Ca: La ciutat de Barcelona bullia sota el sol de la tarda. La gent passava per les Ramblas, ple de vida i colors. Al mig d'aquesta activitat es trobava un petit grup de turistes mirant-se, confosos. No entenien per què tots els negocis estaven tancat, per què la ciutat que havia estat tan viva fa només uns moments, semblava haver entrat en un estat de pau sobtà.
En: The city of Barcelona was abuzz under the afternoon sun. People strolled down the Ramblas, full of life and colors. In the midst of this activity, a small group of confused tourists stood watching each other. They couldn't understand why all the businesses were closed, why the city that had been so vibrant just moments ago seemed to have entered a sudden state of peace.

Ca: Van veure una jove, Marta, encuriosida pels seus rostres perduts. Se'n va apropar amb un somriure. "No enteneu per què tot està tan tranquil, veritat?" Va preguntar, encara somrient. "És l'hora de la siesta", va afegir.
En: They saw a young woman, Marta, intrigued by their lost faces. She approached them with a smile. "Don't you understand why everything is so quiet, right?" she asked, still smiling. "It's siesta time," she added.

Ca: Els turistes la miraven, però seguien sense entendre. Va ser aleshores quan un home, Jordi, es va apropar. Jordi era guia turístic i coneixia bé aquesta confusió. Es va unir a la conversa i va començar a explicar.
En: The tourists looked at her, still not understanding. It was then that a man, Jordi, approached. Jordi was a tour guide and familiar with this confusion. He joined the conversation and began to explain.

Ca: "La 'siesta' és una tradició que tenim a Espanya. Després de dinar, quan el sol està més alt i fa més calor, la gent es reposa". Va explicar Jordi.
En: "The 'siesta' is a tradition we have in Spain. After lunch, when the sun is highest and it's hottest, people rest," Jordi explained.

Ca: Però els turistes encara semblaven dubitatius, no podien entendre com es podia aturar tot una ciutat durant un parell d'hores. Fins que una altra veu es va unir a la conversa. Era Núria. Cansada, però amb una bella somriure a la cara.
En: But the tourists still seemed doubtful, unable to grasp how an entire city could come to a halt for a couple of hours. Until another voice joined the conversation. It was Núria. Tired, but with a beautiful smile on her face.

Ca: Núria era una senyora gran que havia viscut a Barcelona tota la seva vida. Va començar a parlar amb suavitat sobre com quan ella era petita, tota la família s'ajuntava a medio día per a dinar junts. Després de menjar, tots es reclinaven a les seves cadires o anaven als seus llits per fer la siesta.
En: Núria was an elderly lady who had lived in Barcelona all her life. She began to talk softly about how when she was young, the whole family gathered at noon to eat lunch together. After eating, everyone would recline in their chairs or go to their beds for the siesta.

Ca: Explicava amb tanta passió i amor per aquesta tradició que els turistes, ara interessats, van començar a entendre. Podien veure la importància de la siesta, no només com a descans, sinó com a part integral de la cultura espanyola.
En: She spoke with such passion and love for this tradition that the tourists, now interested, began to understand. They could see the importance of the siesta, not only as a rest, but as an integral part of Spanish culture.

Ca: El dia va continuar i els negocis van tornar a obrir, les persones van sortir dels seus amagatalls per continuar el dia. Els turistes, ara amb una comprensió més profunda, van somriure entre ells. Ara entenien la siesta, i es van sentir una mica més a prop d'entendre la màgica ciutat de Barcelona.
En: The day continued, businesses reopened, people emerged from their hiding places to carry on the day. The tourists, now with a deeper understanding, smiled at each other. They now understood the siesta, and felt a bit closer to grasping the magical city of Barcelona.

Ca: Aquell dia van apreciar no només les obres d'art o els edificis emblemàtics de la ciutat, sinó també les petites particularitats que la fan única, com la siesta. A partir d'aquell dia, quan els turistes recordessin Barcelona, pensarien en la siesta, en aquell moment tranquil, un instant de pau al mig de la ciutat que no para mai. I això, en si mateix, era tan significatiu com qualsevol monument que haguessin vist. Així és com una "siesta" va esdevenir una gran part del seu viatge.
En: That day, they appreciated not only the artworks or the iconic buildings of the city but also the small peculiarities that made it unique, like the siesta. From that day on, when the tourists remembered Barcelona, they would think of the siesta, of that peaceful moment, a moment of calm in the midst of the city that never stops. And that, in itself, was as meaningful as any monument they had seen. This is how a "siesta" became a significant part of their journey.
